Should I download the patch if

My computer didn't get the first virus?
DS's computer got the worm, but mine didn't. It runs on the same cable line.

Also, I think I downloaded the patch on his computer after we had the virus removed. How can I check to see if it's downloaded?

I wasn't sure if I had downloaded it or not so I went back to the website and clicked "download"...it immediately came back with "item already exists...do you wish to replace?" I knew I had the patch and didn't need to worry about it.

I didn't have the virus but it didn't hurt to download it just to be sure I never get it!

If you don't download the patch, it's possible the virus CAN find your machine. I have heard reports that this virus will be actively searching the net for the next year with some level of success.

You should run the patch, and check on at least a monthly basis to make sure there are no more. Put it in your monthly cleaning schedule under "clean windows" or something...
