Should I do it?

And can I convince my DH it's a good idea...

Currently have reservations for 11/29-12/2 at the WL, and 12/2-12/4 at POFQ. Booked under the AP Best Rate program. Couldn't get WL for my entire stay, so booked the last couple of nights at POFQ. Never stayed at either resort.

Now, I'm second guessing my choice of POFQ. We could stay at either BWI or YC for $224/night (standard view) for 12/2-12/4, versus our $94/night rate at POFQ. Never stayed at these two resorts, either!

My question - would you make the switch? (I wouldn't incur a penalty under the AP program since it would be an increase in cost.) Is it worth more than doubling the cost of our last 2 nights ($209.64 versus $499.52) to stay at either of these resorts? And if so, which would you pick?

IMO, NO it's not worth the switch unless you want to be close to Epcot and MGM. I've never stayed at POFQ but I have seen the grounds and to me, PO resorts are the best moderates on-site.

Keep trying for WL it may become available as the time gets closer. People are constantly changing their ressie's. I have gotten lucky that wasy several times. Sometimes I think it depends on what CM answers the phone and how much they are willing to try to get you where you want. I personnaly hate to break up my stay. With a family of 5 it's just too much work to switch resorts unless it's for more than 5 days. If you keep trying for WL you won't have to pay as much as at BWI or YC.
Good luck and keep trying!!!! :wave2:

For the difference in cost, I'd stay @ POFQ! It's my favorite Moderate. It's small and easy to get around; the bus service is fine and you can take a boat to DTD. The only down-side is you'll be in a slightly smaller room with 2 full-size beds rather than the queens. Is that a deal breaker for you? ;)

It is entirely up to you. Would you spend the extra cash you saved staying at POFQ on having a more enjoyable trip - maybe some extra nice meals or something? I have stayed at WL following POFQ, and I much prefer to do the moderate resort first, then the deluxe. But, this probably wouldn't be an option for you with the new passholder discount, to change the WL part of your ressie.

If it were me, I would try to hold out for the whole stay at WL - and you never know - the rates may even come down nearer the time with the new system. I would keep your reservation as it is for now and see what happens. If you reserve the new rates at one of the Epcot resorts - they will no doubt be higher than WL ones, so you wouldn't be able to change later - as WL rooms were never discounted as much as the other deluxe resort rooms on the other system. Hope this makes sense.

I initially wanted to do a moderate first, and then the deluxe, but the dates just didn't work out. We knew we wanted to stay at WL to see the holiday decorations, and it will be convenient as we're doing MVMCP our 1st day there. I don't mind doing a split stay - no kids, as it's just the 2 of us at this point!

I guess I'm thinking about YC and BWI because I've heard great things about their holiday decorations as well. Plus, I don't know that I'd be able to "swallow" those rates for more than a couple of nights. We've only stayed at the Swan over in the Epcot area before, and would like to try one of the "true" Disney properties.

However, for those that have stayed in 2 (or all 3), please keep weighing in. Would the atmosphere, amenities, and decorations at the BWI or YC outweigh the difference in cost, or should I just stick with POFQ?

i would stay with what you have and use that extra money on something really fun !!
or keep checking with disney and try to get in to WL for all of it

:Pinkbounc POFQ is fantastic !!!!! It's alot smaller than the other moderates,
but that is a good thing !!! My DW and I just switched our Dec. 2-17 stay from WL to POFQ . This will be our third stay at French Quarter, figured we'd
stay there again and use the savings for one or two trips next year !!!!!!
You will probably enjoy FQ alot, but remember, you'll still be at Disney!!!!!!! :cool1: Have a great time !!!!!!!!! :earsboy: :earsgirl:
