Hi girls! DF and I have been debating over whether or not to do a rehearsal dinner. We're going to have about 28 people at our wedding, and we're not entirely sure we can -afford- a rehearsal dinner, but we'd kind of like to do one!

So, what do you think? Should we? Any suggestions?! I know this has been brought up before, but I figured--- why not bring it up again?!?! :)

Well I'm not sure if this helps, but I'm not really doing one. Can't really afford to. So what I was thinking of doing, is after our rehearsal going to Epcot and drink/eat around the world. I might spring and add an extra day to my family's park tickets, when I did the math it was like $8 so that they can all come along. I thought it would be a fun and inexpensive way to all be together. HTH. :goodvibes

We were in the same boat, we thought of doing something like pizza by the pool, or just go get pizza. Our planner actually mentioned having pizza delivered by the pool.

You could always do something like change your dessert party to the night before the wedding rather than the night of and use that as a "rehearsal dinner" that way it wouldn't be an additional cost.

Or cut things from other places to save money for the RD like cutting character appearances or something. It's all about what's most important to you and DF to make your wedding day just what you want. :goodvibes

We are doing the dessert party the night of the rehersal :-) Something low-key and fun with the fireworks and yummy desserts!! We are only inviting our parents, grandparents and wedding party.

Before the rehersal we are just ordering a couple pizzas and gathering in one of the tree house villas at SSR for dinner!! Easyyyyy. Just the way I like it!! :goodvibes

We're not doing a rehearsal dinner either. Instead we're doing a welcome get together at the lounge of the resort we're staying at and a drink around the world get together for those who want to attend.

Thanks for all of the ideas! DF and I are currently mulling over treating everyone to a rehearsal/welcome party "lunch" at Kona. We haven't ultimately decided yet, but it's probably what we'll do.

Please do not feel bad if you do not do a rehearsal dinner or a welcome party. My husband and I were in that same boat 6 months ago. We would have had to have 40 ppl who where all close family and bridal party members if we did a rehearsal dinner. We couldn't afford to do one. Honestly I am glad we didn't do one. It saved us lots of money and gave us more time to spend w/our friends and family. I ended up doing a dinner w/my bridesmaids and it was great. HTH :goodvibes
