Should I change it again?

We had a reservation for Dec. 18-22, but I kinda got worried with everyone saying it gets really busy near Christmas. I switched it to Dec. 4th-9th for almost $300 more and just realized that compared to last years times they are not opened that long. Is it worth the money to stay at this date? Is it really less crowded 2 weeks ahead? I do have a son with Asperger's so I kinda don't want too many people or crowds, so any input would be great! The guy said that I have 24 hours to change it back without being charged or does anyone know of any deals that I can call and ask for to bring that back down a little?

I think you made a wise move. The parks aren't open as late, but you will have a chance to get on rides without waiting in horribly long lines. We went that week before and it was perfect. Christmas decorations are up, which is really neat to see :).

I also think you made a wise move. The closer you get to Christmas, the more crowds you will find.

After the Thanksgiving crowd leaves, there are a couple of weeks where the parks are reasonably empty. By the third week in December, they begin to pick up. The week of Christmas is insane.

OP, you made a wise choice. Stick with it!

I can't speak for all school districts, but in ours, kids are in school the 4th-9th, out on break the 18th-22nd. Yes, I think that makes a huge difference in crowds.

Touring Plans predicts Crowd low levels with only one day being a 6. Good choice your other days had a 10 in there...have fun, Disney Christmas :santa: is spectacular!!!!

Pop Warner 2011 dates are Dec 3 - 10th. Cheer & Dance are 5-9th That can cause issues, especially if you are staying at a resort where there are a lot of Pop Warner groups. Busy buses, busy food court.

I was trying to remember what those groups were called. I've never been during those times, but I've read quite a few threads on here that had negative remarks. OP, you can do a search on those groups to get an idea.

Any chance you can go prior to the 3rd? We always try to go the week leading up to Christmas (pretty much your first timeframe) and use Tourguide Mike. Even though the crowds have picked up, we never wait on anything long when we follow his directions.
