Should I cancel Ariel's Grotto and go to Blue Bayou instead?

I have reservations for Ariel's Grotto at 4:20 (weird time for dinner but the park closes at 6pm so ....) but am wondering if I should cancel and spend almost the same amount of money at BB instead???

The WHOLE reason we were going to Ariel's grotto was to celebrate the birthday of my 1 year old daughter - however, earlier in the day we are doing the Plaza Inn party.

I have ALWAYS wanted to eat at BB and I don't think very many people here have had great things to say about Ariel's grotto food.

So....should I cancel and have dinner at BB (at a normal time of night) and when DD is older do the Princess dinner?

P.S. Obviously I realize she won't remember any of this stuff but the princess dinner was really all about the photo's anyway

The ONLY reason I would go to Ariel's is for the princess interaction - if that is not your interest this trip - run far far away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd pick BB and wait until she was older for Ariel's. The food at Ariel's is terrible and the service is even worse! Since she won't even remember it, I would definatley not do it!

I would do BB and wait until DD is older and can really appreciate the attention from the princesses. While it would be cute to get pictures she wont remember the experience. Plus there is always the possibility that you won't get much interaction because your DD is so young and the princesses will spend most of their time with the children that want to have more of a conversation (I don't know if this would happen but I would be worried it might). BB has a wonderful atmosphere and wonderful food (IMO). When my Mother, DD2 at the time, adn myself ate there in 03 the atmosphere was so relaxed that my daughter got a nice nap while mother and I ate.

Hmm, hard choice. Last time I ate at Ariel's it was horrible. That was before it was with the Princesses. I vowed not to go back, but since then others have had a better experience than I did.

Now, up until last year, I would have said hands down Blue Bayou. But since they've re-opened after the Pirate's re-hab, I've heard that the food is not as good and neither is the service. They also raised the prices. I still think it is a great thing to experience at least once.

Ariel's is about the princesses. Even though your daughter is young and won't remember some really great photo ops would be had at Ariel's. I have eaten there many times before and after the princesses and had decent meals each time. Its a limited menu and hardly gourmet but we never left hungry or disatisfied. And its nice the characters come to you so you don't have to miss anybody while you are at the buffet.

Blue Bayou has a more interesting menu and atmosphere. The ambiance is great. If your daughter is at all scared of the dark however this might not be the place for you as you are eating at night on the bayou! Either way you go, have a wonderful day celebrating your daughter's first!

okay, I cancelled Ariel's Grotto and got 5:30 ressies for BB. This will be so much easier since we are doing the Plaza Inn birthday party at 2PM and then won't have to hussle over to DCA by 4:20 for the ressies there.
