Should I buy water park fun plus tickets in December?

We have purchased park hopper tickets for 7 days in December?

We would like to buy the water park tickets also, but are concerned that the weather will not be good for Typhoon Lagoon.

Should I just buy park tickets now and then add Water park tickets on when I arrive if the weather is warm? or can I do that and still get the best price?

Unless you plan on using EVERYTHING that the Plus comes with, or plan on hitting a water park several times instead of just snagging a dip in the pool, it's often cheaper to just buy a day's admission to the water park. Of course that also has the benefit of you not wasting money if it does end up being cold.

check the rehab and closure schedule. I think the water parks will be shut down in December.

I wouldn't bother. One of the parks (I think Typhoon Lagoon) is shut down for rehab, and the weather is usually too cool for the water parks. If you happen to get a good day, pay for one day pass...it's cheaper. I really didn't use many pluses when I went last year, so it was a waste of money.

We will be there 12/8 - 12/15 and didn't get the waterpark option. We decided if the weather is nice enough, we'll just buy a one day pass.

It is best during this time of year to only buy a day ticket for a water park, due to weather and rehab schedule

Well.....
In 2004 we were there from 12/2-12/10 and it was FREEZING about 60/70's during the day..not swimming weather..cold at the night activities. :cold: :cold: :cold:

We needed to buy warm hats, gloves and do multi-layer every night...and I like the cold. Though, the hot chocolate felt good. ;) It certainly will be my last time there in the winter. I enjoy the pool and warm weather..hey..that's why I go to Fla. :lmao:

Yes...WDW is beautifully decorated for the holidays and its a must see...at least once. Been there, done that...and..never again!!

Here's the "best" picture I have of my extended family...and she's NOT fat...just a little pregnant :rotfl2:

We're going in December and we did buy the Water Park Fun and More option. We did that, not because we plan on going to the one water park that will be open then, but because we plan on going to Disney Quest. The marginal price difference between one Disney Quest ticket and the Park hopper, after discount, was less than $10 per person. This way, we figured we could go to Disney Quest more than once if we wanted to. For example, we might go for a few hours on the day of arrival, then again later in the week. And since it also covers Pleasure Island, if we do any of that, it'll just be a bonus.

But if you don't plan on doing Disney Quest and/or Pleasure Island, the Water Park Fun and More option probably isn't worth it in December.

We bought it for our trip this year as we did back in 2003. Although last trip we were lucky enough to have gone to both water parks as one was just coming off rehab, and the other was closing for rehab. We won't be that lucky this trip as Blizzard Beach will be down, but being Nawtheastahs (That's Northeasters for you "Southerners" ;) ) our kids would swim in a snowstorm if we'd let them!! so for us, we will make a day of Typhoon Lagoon provided it's not raining or below 60 degrees! Like the OP said, it will be worth it even if we just use it for the admission to DQ, but knowing my kids, we WILL be at Typhoon Lagoon one day :sunny:

We always hit DisneyQuest at least twice every trip so we always get the plus option. DQ is one of our absolute "must do" things.

Xmas 2003 was c-c-c-c-c-c-c-old (and we're used to cold weather living in Montreal) I remember having to wear my gloves (and I was still freezing!) during EPCOT's Candlelight show. Brrrrrrrr
