Should I bother telling them I'm DVC now?

I already have a DCL booked for the end of January. I already am Castway Club- -because I cruised a few years ago with them. Is there any point in me calling DCL to tell them I'm now part of DVC? Are there any perks for being DVC on a cruise?

If they knew, you got an invite to the member get together. We had bought after we booked and hadn't notified them, but the meeting was listed in the navigator so we went anyway. And to be honest, it was a snooze. Got free hats though.

There are some freebies placed in your cabin, if they know you are a DVC member.

We're going again in March and we were advised by our TA that once we boarded to let the DVC reps know our cabin number.

Well, they found me last time and I never told them or checked in. Paid cash for the room too. I think they check LOL!

We just told them when we were there and got all the goodies :)
It was fun....our first Disney cruise and our first time doing anything Disney as DVC members.

We booked cash. When I made the booking I told the CM, but she didn't really care that we were member. I'm not even sure if she knew what DVC was. When we arrived at the cruise terminal though, I went over to the DVC rep and told her we were members. She didn't have a record of it but noted it and welcomed us home. A day or two into the cruise, we had some magnets placed on our door.

We had to tell the DVC reps on board for our first cruise, but they've just known for each cruise since!

The 2 cruises last year, we got:

* 2 DCL magnets on the door (placed like Mickey ears on the stateroom number)
* Captain's Log - Pen and book with places to enter information and keep little trinkets, plus includes 4 DVC lanyards - *much* nicer than DCL or Castaway Club lanyards!
* DVC cruise line points charts for upcoming cruises (always handy to have!)
* DVC gift bag at member meeting - 4 hats and *more* lanyards, plus DVC info.
* DVC pins - given out in varying methods on each cruise (depends on the DVC reps on board)

Also, at the DVC member meets they do trivia - one year I won a DVC travel pillow, and last time I won a DVC beach towel. You can also attend their group sales presentations, where there's a chance at a door prize of some sort as well.

We usually come home with a ton of DVC stuff! Far more than we ever have from a DVC trip! :rotfl:

Thanks everyone!!!

I called DCL to have them add a comment to my file and the lady kept going on reading me the policy about DCL and using my points. I told her no, I paid cash- I just want the goodies! :rotfl2:

I'm going to try and call again later to have them comment my file!

Thanks Again!:yay:
