Should I be nervous?

My husband is getting a little nervous. TT&More received our $$$ and closing documents on 6/1...the seller returned theirs on 6/4 and they were received on 6/7. I called today to check in and after a little investgating out resale agent found out that there was a problem with one of the sellers pages (apprently the notary forgot to put the stamp!) The sellers are in CA until Monday so they could not take care of the problem. They are saying they will take care of it on Monday and overnight it and we should close on Tuesday. Sounds ok and plausible to me...It has my hubby worried that we are in the midst of some sort of scam.

What are your thoughts?

Sounds like an honest mistake. Your money is in escrow, the seller won't get it until after the contract closes.

I don't think you should be nervous at all. I don't know what resale company you used, but Timeshare Title and More is a legitimate title insurance and closing company that is registered with the Florida Department of Financial Services.

Plus, they are holding the money in escrow until the transaction closes, so it's not like the seller has your money and is making excuses for not completing the sale.

Timeshare scams most frequently occur when you make purchases direct from owners from sites like Craigslist or eBay. I assume that you are working through a licensed reseller. If that's the case, I would say that your chance of being involved in a scam in this situation is virtually zero.

I wouldn't worry. Something similar happened to me and the paperwork had to be re-signed and re-submitted by the sellers. It delayed our closing a bit. These things do happen.

Thanks for the reassurances! It really does seem like an honest mistake and yes we are using a reputable resale company...typically refered to on this board as "the other one" ;)

Have a good night!

ELMC:
what does the "Rent/Trade DVC" mean under your name? Sorry this is off topic but I have seen it on several Disboarders tags and wanted to know what it meant.
Thanks!
