Should I be concerned about upcoming BCV stay?

We have been members since 1998 and almost never disappointed in DVC. OKW is our home -- but, we love love love AKV. We decided to try something different with a BCV stay (we will go to EPCOT and swim midday) in April.

However, I am reading a lot of bad reviews about BCV rooms. Words like "filthy", "disgusting", "dingy" and "moldy" are popping up repeatedly. Frankly, I'm worried. :confused3

Has anyone gone to BCV recently who can cheer me up? Or, should I move to SS or OKW (the only open resorts at this point) - despite the obvious location disadvantage?

Thanks!

Based on our stay there last September, I would be quite surprised if you found your BCV room disappointing. We found our room to be in fine condition. It was our first stay there, as well.

Where are you reading these reviews? Trip Advisor? They are notorious for bad reviews of everything.

BCV is a great resort and we hope to be staying there in the fall.

Although I cannot attest to the rooms, I absolutely fell in love with the Beach Club Resort when we visited a couple of weeks ago. We were staying at BWV and spent some time checking out the BC for our upcoming stay at BCV in September. The lobby, grounds, pool area and shops were amazing. I am SOOOO looking forward to our first stay there!

We loved our stay there in Dec but I was disappointed in the upkeep of the room. It was clean, but badly worn.

I just think it stays so busy they don't take time to fix things, or clean major stains like furniture and carpet.

Plus you get pigs staying there sometimes who let their kids write on the furniture, spill stuff without cleaning it up or just trash the place because it is so popular. Now it is BLT's turn for that type of treatment.

Yep you could tell it would have not taken much for the guest to clean up the stains, I was able to clean the couch myself.

We stayed there in May and were not unhappy at all. Some of the furnishings didnt look brand new but not bad. We love BCV! :thumbsup2

We were in a 2 BR lockoff first weekend in February. Rooms were in fine shape. I just missed my lake or golf course view! (We own at BLT and OKW) Didn't realize how important they are to my enjoyment. Something to think about.

OK, glad to hear it's not all bad. So long as the room is clean and not "moldy", we will be fine. I don't need brand new furniture!

We're going to stick with it and hope for the best!

I'll report back in April!

In a studio in January and had a wonderful stay. Room was clean with no evidence of any stains or mold.:thumbsup2

We love BCV! We were there in December and our room was great. We're heading back there next week and can't wait. It's our favorite resort!

We have been 3 years in a row, first 2 renting cash villas at BCV and loved it enough to buy into BCV last year. We had another great stay in November. The grounds are spectacular, the location is unbeatable. The rooms are fine, simple and perhaps there might be a bit of wear and tear but we have never seen anything off-putting. We love everything about the place. You will too.

We were there in October/November of 2011 and didn't have any problems with the resort.

Actually, the only problem I have ever had with the cleanliness of a WDW resort was a concierge level room at WL :confused3

We LOVE BCV and have stayed there the last couple of trips. Both of our trips our rooms have been exceptional with no mold, filth, or whatever else kind of words you have been reading. I would recommend this resort to anyone who wants to stay in the Epcot resort area. I would not worry about BCV you are going to love your stay there :goodvibes.

I had read some reviews on "all ears" that talked about the rooms being bad. I feel much better after reading this thread. Thanks everyone for your comments.

I think part of that comes from the fact that the rooms at the Beach Club resort, not the Villas, are simply gorgeous and recently redone. It makes the BCV look somewhat more worn and tired in comparison.

As I stated earlier, our room in Dec was clean, but it was showing some age that with better upkeep by housekeeping and maintenance and better care by other members could be avoided.

Same here. End of January we had a studio, no problems at all.
