Should I be concerned about AKL conceirge?

I had a bad experience with it also....I found the lounge to be WAY too crowded. It's not very big and the seating is quite limited. We had to take our food back downstairs to our room almost every time. We also didn't get any information prior to arrival. We were there last Memorial day right shortly after they opened which could be the reason for some of the problems.

I wouldn't worry though. Almost every post I have seen for AKL concierge has been very positive.:)

We were there this past Sept. (pre and during the 9/11 crisis) and found it to be wonderful. The staff was very helpful, food offerings were always good and plentiful, and it was never crowded. If you do the concierge make sure you do the Sunrise Safari (if you can). It is certainly not cheap, but well worth it

That was my post and I've heard good reports about the AKL concierge since I was there. But I'm still disappointed with my experience there. I'm not really going for the concierge experience, I want to take my kids on the Sunrise Safari and that's the only way you can do it.

We stayed there for 9 nights last December and we could not have had a more PERFECT experience. The staff was phenomenal, the lounge was a wonderful refuge (complete with cappucino machine!) and the food selection was great. Please feel free to PM is you need any more encouragement--our trip to AKL was by far our best disney trip yet!

We were there about a month after it opened...we found the AKL concierge to be the best on disney property..the people are wonderful...the service there is outstanding.

I have stayed at the AKL concierge twice since they opened and
also booked my neighbor's there for her birthday this
past January.

We all had a wonderful time, the lounge was terrific and
the Sunrise Safari something not to be missed.

If it makes you feel any better, I was at the AKL for Opening Day and Week and had the most incredible stay. The concierge was wonderful, the best on property, in my humble opinion. I was also a concierge guest over the holidays, and again had a wonderful stay. I have had nothing but lovely experiences with the AKL's concierge (and regular) staff. They all are wonderful. I hope you have a nice stay there, too.

I have been in the GF's Royal Palm Club concierge lounge when it was dead, and when it was super busy. The same for the YC and CR's concierge lounges; both when they were dead and super busy. It is always hit or miss with any of the lounges. If you happen to show up right as they are changing the food selections (which is well-publicized as all the resorts give you a schedule of the lounge offerings when you are a concierge guest), that is when I have noticed it is the most busy. I try to stay away from the lounge at those times. It seems to work out better for me if I do. If I show up at a slower time, I get more interaction from the Cast Members, which is always a highlight of my stay. I really enjoy speaking with them all.

Can someone explain the Sunrise Safari? I've seen a few pictures on someone's website, is it a really big breakfast? How do you book this when staying at AKL, and how much is it?

Thanks for any help!

Tina
