As most of you know - this is a major budget trip for me and my daughter. I am looking at public transit, and it takes about 2 hrs using a subway and bus. Cost is only $6.50! Supershuttle is $78 roundtrip for the 2 of us. I could do it for $13! It all looks great on paper...take this subway to that bus....but how clearly marked is everything? Should I just spend the money on an airport bus or supershuttle and save myself the hassle? I don't plan on having much luggage - I want to travel light. Here is what I get from the mta site..
Go to Mariposa Nash Green Line Station

Take Metro Rail Green Line North (NORWALK) at 9:44 a.m.
Pay $1.25 (Monthly Pass: $52)
Get off at Norwalk I 105 I 605 Grn Line Station at 10:13 a.m.
Go to Norwalk Green Line Station
Take Metro Bus 460 South (DISNEYLAND) at 10:27 a.m.
Pay $1.25 (Monthly Pass: $42)
Get off at East Shuttle Rdwy / Disneyland at 11:24 a.m.
Go to SE corner of Harbor Blvd / E Shuttle Area
Take Orange County Bus 43 North (FULLERTON TRANSP CENTER VIA BREA BLVD) at 11:32 a.m.
Pay $1.00 (Monthly Pass: $37.50)
Get off at Fullerton Tc / Dock 3 at 11:59 a.m.
Ending at Fullerton Metrolink Station

Having lived in SoCal all my life, public transportation is not one of this area's strongpoints. It's definitely doable if you and your daughter want to take on a mini-adventure (do you ever watch Amazing Race)and have all just carry luggage (nothing rollable) and backpacks. First of all, you have to get on a shuttle to get to the Green Line, for some crazy reason, they didn't bring the Green Line all the way to LAX. The Green Line will be no problem, but the busses, to me thats another story. The Green Line is well marked, you would be basically taking the light rail from one end to its complete other end, then hopping on a bus at the Norwalk station. Another question: where in Anaheim will you be staying? Because from reading your itinerary, the bus seems like it goes to DL (at Harbor BLvd)then you have to transfer to go to the Fullerton Trans. Center. which from Norwalk would be heading north away from DL. $78 is not bad for roundtrip on the shuttle, keeping in mind the distances involved.

Yah I slept on this and thought "AM I CRAZY???". LOL. We are adventurous - but I just want to 'get there'. We are staying in Fullerton at the 4 points sheraton (remember the $12/nt deal? Well I got it!). I was thinking we could just take the green line to union station and then take amtrak.....
Anyway...I have decided on the airport bus - its 41 roundtrip for the 2 of us and while it has a bit of a hassle with changing to a shuttle and stuff, its half the price of supershuttle, and every penny counts on this trip. I would rather have another 40 bucks to take her to Club Libby Lu and be a bit inconvienced on the airport bus!
Thanks!

When I read your post, I was thinking "No Way, Do Not Take Public Transportation with luggage and a child"....too much trouble. I'm glad to read that you have decided on a shuttle.
