Should I activate my AP BEFORE trying to check in to POP?

I know experiences are different resort to resort. The first part of our trip is at Pop Century. Do we need to activate our AP's before checking in or will they allow us to check in and then bring back the activate pass later that day? What has your experience been? Thanks!

Your AP voucher should be enough for the discount. Honestly, I don't remember the last time a CM asked me for my AP when I checked in and I always book the AP rate.

Edited to add: The CM at POP didn't ask for my AP in August.

We checked into POR and then GF in July. Neither place even asked to see our APS. At POR I only had the voucher and asked if they wanted to see it and the CM said No!

TECHNICALLY, you are supposed to have an activated pass but I have never been asked for one and I have used them several times.
I was just reading the fine print on Deb Wills site and she advises you to have it activated to avoid potential embarrassment. I am still going to check-in w/ the voucher.

We checked in with the voucher last Dec., no problem, they didn't even ask. And, we've never been asked to show our AP on any of our trips since. The worst that can happen, they ask you to go activate and come back to check in, but I really doubt it.

We were not asked to show our APs or vouchers in August at WL. He even tried to sell me tickets when checking me in! It was a good thing because we had not even purchased our vouchers yet (we had to go to SOG to do so). I know they tell you to have the activated APs, but for many the logical process would be to check in to the hotel and then go to the parks and have the AP activated. Maybe they realize that and so don't ask for you to show the AP.
