Went out to eat with DH & a friend who was visiting from out of state. She had a living Estate sale awhile back & still had some stuff leftover. She donated it to the Men's group at church for their garage sale. At dinner tonight she said that I should go through the 3 boxes donated prior to garage sale. Since DH is in group, we stopped by and went through boxes. I got a Hall China Jewel Tea Aladdin teapot with original diffuser & lid, trifle bowl, glass lemon juicer & a glass bowl that matched a set of my grandmother's candlesticks exactly. Will make my monetary donation to men's group tomorrow.
DH & I had a deal that for anything new that I brought into house that something would leave. Well got to go through stuff and get rid of stuff to make room for new stuff.
Been so proud of myself for going through stuff and more importantly getting rid of stuff.

Great find. My mom gave me her cobalt blue Aladdin tea pot for Christmas.

Some things are so special you can't pass them up. Just donate some of those things that people have given you over the years that you've only kept because of the guilt. When people say it's the thought that counts I want to say " Yes, but obviously this person didn't think or they never would have given ME this". Repeat after me "I will not be bogged down by other peoples stuff".
