So after changing our minds at least 3 times......we still havnt totally committed to a resort yet. Currently we are booked in August for the Treehouse villas at SS. The couple of things that have us questioning that resort is the fact that it is very far from everything at SS and that we are not sure we could get our 3 kids in the same bedroom together. Our girls will absolutely want the bunks and we were curious if we'd be able to move the sleeper chair into their room for my stepson. The disney rep didnt know the answer to that (and it's not fair to think that he would) but we are really up in the air about it. Also we thought our discount code had been applied to it but it wasnt "eligible" for the discount. We also liked the Beach Club 2 bed villa but also told that there wasnt any discount for them.

So after all that here is my question. Do we wait out and see about discounts later for one of those two choices or is it unlikely.

Also I have heard that if one of the adults bought a yearly pass that I may be able to get a really good discount on the room then. Is anyone familiar with this? Will it be worthwhile? What does in entail? Thanks for any help.

The discounts for that late August are already out. No more will be offered as a GP offer.

:welcome: to the DIS!

There is a room only offer available for dates thru Oct 1. There is also a Kids Stay & Play Free offer but if you are looking at doing any villa the room off percentage is the better discount.

There is limited inventory for each various discount. Sometimes they don't have any inventory at specific resorts (the name of the game is fill empty rooms. If the resort is booked they don't need to offer the discount there).
I would not expect to see any additional discounts for your travel dates. If you want a steeper discount, you will need to be willing to change resorts.

Sometimes inventory does change; if someone cancels a room at Beach Club Villas it could go back into the pool for that discount. It does happen, but there are no guarantees (and since Beach Club & Boardwalk Villas are extremely popular I wouldn't count on it).

I did some dummy August dates and found availability for Saratoga Springs & Old Key West. I also saw that at Animal Kingdom Villas (both Jambo, which is located in the main Lodge, and Kindani which is a separate building) you could have 5 people in a 1 bedroom due to a sleeper chair. There was availability at both of those as well.

Another interesting option came up when I was checking, the cabins at Fort Wilderness.

You can find more info on resorts at allears.net.

As far the buying an Annual Pass to get a discount, first it usually doesn't make financial sense to buy it unless you plan to use more than 10 park days in a 12 month time frame.
Second, the discounts can have very limited inventory and resorts selection can be very limited.
AP rates are currently released to April 16th (as in check out by that date). You can watch Mousesavers.com for info on AP rates.

Finally, just to throw way too much info at you, you could look into renting DVC points. I would recommend using a broker such as David's Vacation Club Rentals. They are a sponsor fo the DIS, very reputable and I have helped my neighbors arrange a rental through them and they were very pleased.

If you have any more questions, please feel free to come back and ask.

HTH! :wizard:

She's right...I checked on the BCVs, but nothing. Tried BLTs but nothing...we are staying at CR with 30% off room. I did the same thing Mrs D did...dummy ressies at AKL villas/kidani and there are still availabilities. I have never been to the Tree House villas, but can tell you that AKL looks awesome!!! We've eaten over there a couple of times and really like it!! Also, Mrs. D mentioned the FW cabins. We are trying these for a couple of days before we go to the CR. We've visited numerous times and the campgrounds look like a great place for kids. You can get a 25% off room discount through June then I think it's 30% off in August. I think we paid something like $260 a night (more or less) for the FW cabins.

Happy Planning!

Well thanks for all the info. I have to say having so many options actually makes planning this trip a little stressful but I know well worth it in the long run.

We initially were doing AK but then got some sticker shock when we saw how much we were spending so we decided to come back to earth a bit. We like the feel of the THVs but are just concerned about being so far away from all the amenities of the resort and also trying to figure out if we can move the sleeper chair into the bunk bed room so that the 3 kids can be together. We would'nt want the 3rd kid to be by themselves in the LR.

The one thing that is a little stressful is that sometimes we are getting different info from different disney agents when we call. For example when my wife called initally about the THV the agent told her that we could rent a golfcart to get around better for about $350 for the week. When I called yesterday to get more info (and to ask again about the golf cart after reading on here that you could not get one) I was told that the we couldnt get it. Just gets a little confusing at time.

Thanks again everyone.

THV has 3 bedrooms, so 2 could sleep in bunks and 1 in a room and you in a room, no need to move furniture.
For what's it's worth I know they have sleeper chairs over at the All Star Music family suites and I have read that they are prohibitively heavy and there was concern about ripping the carpet. Not sure if they'd be too wide to get through a doorway.

Only place you can rent golf carts is Fort Wilderness.

You could however request to be close to SSR walking path for closer proximity to buses, etc.
