Shortest Trip???

My shortest trip was also my most last-minute trip.

Friday evening: Business as usual - nothing big planned for the weekend.

9am Saturday morning... hmmm flights look open to MCO (airline employee)!
10am Sat: on the road to the airport (45 min trip)
1pm Sat: got the last 2 seats on a plane to MCO
3:30pm Sat: checked in to AS-Sports (my timing might be a little off here, but you get the picture)
5:30pm Sat: Dinner at Boatwrights
8:00pm Sat: Downtown Disney

8am Sun: Animal Kingdom - Safari, ITTBAB, Kali, Dinosaur
1pm Sun: MGM - Backstage, Great Movies, Mermaid
5pm Sun: heading back to airport
9pm Sun: back home in Sweet Home Chicago!

flying belle...that was short! I love it!

Now I'm wondering if I can do it...

Hi ya all hiyall804. I bet we pass each other all the time. I am on Olive going to the ice rink at least 3-4 times per week. Were you in the buyout? We were not but our house got a whole lot closer to the airport! ;)

Sorry completely off topic!

One week my DH & took off to finish moving into our new house. Well we finished everything sooner then expected, so we were picking up boxes on Wednesday at around 12 pm & I said wouldnt it be nice to be in Disney right now? He said lets pack & leave when the kids get out of school. So I called Disney & booked a room. We packed up the car, & when the kids got off the bus we were waiting in the car. We told them we were just going on a ride to pick up a new table for the new house. Well we woke them up 10 hours later, so they could see the lights of Disney. Lets just say they were going crazy!!!! We ended up staying until Saturday, so it wasnt the shortest trip. But it was the most spontaneous trip we ever planned.

My shortest trip.....

A friend and I flew in just for the day. We were able to hit MK, Epcot, and DTD before we flew home. Very fast pace, but VERY worth it. :thumbsup2

I live near Chicago, so one day isn't really practical, but I did a very quick trip last February. I had 3 days off. I closed at work (got home around 11:30pm) Saturday, I flew down Sunday morning at 7am, went to the parks Sunday afternoon and night, went on the Backstage Magic tour, which I'd ALWAYS wanted to do on Monday, went to the parks in the morning for a few hours on Tuesday and hopped on a plane that night at 6pm to be back at work at 7am Wednesday. It was pretty whirlwind and left me wanting a bit more, even having been there as many times as I have, but it was fun! I'd do it again if I could fine cheap plane tix again. About to go back for a week later this week! Yay! :)

Disneycrazymom-No, wasn't part of the buy out (Harmann Estates)but know ALOT of people who were. I am sure we pass each other as I live off of Olive and my kids go to St. Monica right there at Olive/270. Yippee - I leave in the morning! I am going to Chicago via train and then will fly to Orlando on Thur morning.

Sorry to everyone else as I know this is way off topic. :yay:

Our shortest trip was right before a cruise. We got there about 1:30 PM and left for the cruise about 12PM the very next day. We didn't get a chance to go to any of the parks and were very disappointed with that. But we had a great time on the Disney Wonder 4 day cruise.

My shortest trip to the Disney parks was 5.5 hours in March this year, and I hit 3 parks in that time! I was really only going to ride new things.

Started at AK at 8.30 for a quick b'fst at RFC, was at the side turnstile by 9. Did EE twice and PW once (hey, I was passing by and there was no line!), then headed out. Drove to Epcot and parked. I went straight to Soarin to check out the wait time and decide whether to get a FP or not. It was 30 min and I decided to wait it out in case I needed to FP Test Track before heading to MGM. Turns out I did't need to FP TT, so I rode it and hopped on the boat to MGM. I got a FP for R n R and rode ToT (I'd never done it with random drops), then rode R n R. I took the boat back to Epcot and was walking out at 2 p.m. I didn't do MK b/c there was nothing over there that was really calling me - or I should say, Premium Outlet Mall was calling more loudly! :rotfl:
