What affect do you think the shortened fall/winter value season (only 3 weeks in 2005) will have on discounts and crowd levels? I'm wondering if the people who usually go in early/mid November will now go during those 3 weeks in December to take advantage of the cost savings - I know I will be doing this! If this is the case and you are sqeezing more guests into 3 weeks instead of the normal 6 or 7 will Disney feel the need to offer the same level of discounts that they did this year?

Thoughts????

I would. Part of the reason our family goes when we do is to take advantage of value season prices. We save all year for our trip, so value season saves money, especially with a code.

I originally had a value season rate of 148 and change for POFQ this December. With a code I saved around 40 bucks per night. (I think 148 is ridiculous for a moderate anyway.). When I add that up for our 7 nights, it's a lot of money.

We usually travel Nov/Dec just for the season.

Wow, I didn't even realize the seasons were so different for next year. We're planning to go in early December 2005, and will be hoping for AP rates. It sure does seem like some of the people from November will switch to December because of this...I have no idea if it would affect discounts. I hope you get some more good replies to this. Thanks for posting it!

The Nov. to December switchers will be the ones who are not interested in the food & wine festival, the super soap weekend, the Veterans Day holiday or Jersey Week, which may keep the switching down a bit.
