If you have a car can you still do some shortcuts??? Like park at Polynesian and ride the monorail to MK........Or park at Yact and Beach Club and walk the path to the international gateway at Epcot??????? :confused3

Sure! As long as you are staying at that resort. ;)

Most of the deluxe resorts have a guard that checks people coming onto the property. If you are not staying there or do not have a dining reservation, I'm not sure what they will do. They used to give people 3 hour parking passes so you could walk around and check out the resort - maybe they still do. I'm sure parking at a resort just to get easy access to a park is frowned on.

You can still do these as long as you know what to say to the people at the gates. Like if you want to park at the Poly in the morning or whenever to go to the MK, then you should make reservations at the Kona so you have an excuse for going in there. They may give you a parking pass, but you can just not put it up because they never do anything if you dont put it up. And sometimes they don't even ask, they just let you in.
Not the Y&BC is a little different. They have never stopped us, but that may be because we stay at OKW and are DVC members. But you can do the same thing here and make reservations at the Cape May or tell them you are going to Beaches and Cream.
It's really all in what you tell them and the security person on duty.

They may ask for your name, reservation # etc...

I would not suggest doing this. It is very much frowned upon and unfair to the people actually staying at the Poly (or other resort) that can't find parking due to people doing this.

Myst

Ditto. It's very frustrating when you are staying at one of these resorts and you can't find a place to park due to the fact that others are parking there just to save a few dollars.

This may be a bit off the parking topic...but I found some great ways around the property by just following the Disney buses around. Seriously! I can now leave the MK from the back exit, and be back at OKW in 2 minutes. There is not one and only one exit from the parking lot.....

I thought if you stayed onsite, you don't pay for parking anyway, so why would you need to park at a resort if you can park in the regular lot for free? :confused3

I don't know where the OP is staying but I was referring to people who stay off-site or live locally and park at the resorts to avoid paying. It's such a small amount, I don't understand why people do it.
