Shortcut from the turnpike/I75?

I keep seeing signs that say shortcut to Disney when I am on the the turnpike (after getting off at I-75). Is this Oscola parkway or what is it and is it really a shortcut? We usually just go up to I4 and go to WDW that way. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you going South on I-75 or North on I-75??

If you are going South, we always get on the Turnpike, then get off at the first exit (Clermont). Then take US27, then get on 192 (Irlo Bronson).

It is about 45-50 miles once you leave the turnpike and traffic is usually pretty light (although it is either really late at night or really early in the morning for us).

I have found that to be much quicker than taking the Turnpike all the way to I-4 and less expensive in tolls.

Yes, we are going South. Does 27 turn into 192 or is it a turn--right or left? Are there many lights? About how long does it take to drive? Thanks.

The route to take is I-75, exit onto the toll road then exit onto us 27 south. US 27 doesn't turn into US 192. They intersect. US 192 starts at us 27 (or ends if you are going the other way.) It is a ramp exit.

Get onto the toll road and go about 19 miles. get onto us 27 Exit 289) and go about 19 miles and get onto us 192 and go about 7 miles.

Toll was a buck but I think it went up a quarter.

Thanks all--I keep thinkg there's a new road--well to me it's new.

We'll be driving Labor Day Weekend FRODAY evening and KNOW we want to avoid I4.

Just a bit of clarification....

The route to take is I-75, exit onto us 27 south

US27 intersects I-75 in Ocala, you do NOT want to exit there. Stay on I-75 to exit 328 onto Florida's Turnpike, it's a left lane exit. Take Florida's Turnpike (the tollroad) about 20 miles to exit 285, US27. Go south on US27 to US192, it's actually about 27 miles to US192. East on US192 to WDW.

JohnnyOldBoy -- Good catch, I forgot the toll road. I'll almost do anything to avoid a toll.


I edited the previous reply to add the toll road in.

Those miles I put in there are from mapquest. I'll have to check my De Lorme map program to verify.

Also all directions are south bound except 192, that's eastbound.
