My FP selection day was today. We are going October 6-10. I logged on right at 7am and tried to get FoP on my third day. Nothing available. My family and I were lucky enough to ride opening weekend in May and I have been reading that the FP are really hard to get now. With no FP available my next option is to do EMH rope drop. Has anyone done this? Looking for some stories for how it has worked out and also any suggestions. Also doing another short trip in January. Thanks!

FoP is very hard to get a FP+ for if you don't snag it at your 60 day window. We stay offsite, so our window is 30 days. The only way I got one was obsessively stalking the MDE site...for days.

Beyond that, any other ride in WDW isn't hard to get.

I have old non expiring tickets and thinking about going in a few days. Obviously, my FP window is not ideal. I'm guessing our best plan for FoP is rope drop? Or is it complete zoo?

Wow you are going to be there 5 days and you could not get a FOP FP. I'm sorry I have a major problem with that you are spending all this money to stay at disney at the very least disney should guarantee their on site guests a FP to the attraction esp at 60 days out at 7am. It be a different story if you logged in later or something like that.

Really? How is that even possible?

Crazy talk. For one thing, fast pass line would be ridiculously long, which would totally negate the advantage of having one. For another thing, the ticket tos says that they do not guarantee access to any specific attraction. Meaning that your fps are no guarantee that you'll get to ride anyway in case of mechanical failure.

5 days is plenty of time for doing stand by for the ride at least once. Or keep checking. Maybe someone will drop a couple.

I booked a trip 3 days prior a few weeks ago. We were at bus stop 7:50 for a 9am ak open. We did not have bags ( always do but didn't for this morning). We used our AP line to get in but the others were short that early. We walked briskly and got to area inside park where they held us until opening. We had to stand and wait but did FOP and River and off both by 9:35. So try that if its a must do.

Just check closer to your dates! As people change their plans, FP+ will open up for it! It just has to get closer to everyone else's trip dates first...

Thanks everyone! I totally understand the way FP works. I don't at all expect to get a specific FP just because I'm staying onsite. I had a feeling I would run into this problem so that's why I have my backup plan of doing rope drop. Also I could have gotten a FP on October 9 but chose not to as we are going to MNSSHP. I am going to read the thread that hiroMYHero posted and will also keep checking to see if something opens up. Thanks!

We're going October 10-13 so I imagine I'll be in the same boat in a few days.... hoping that I can at least get a FP for Na'avi and rope drop FoP. Hope you make out OK.

I am worried about getting FoP for our trip Oct 15-22, I want for the last night, the 21st. But we have a "split stay" and I am not sure if I will be able to book the last day's FP+ using the first 3 days reservation for our 60 day window for whole trip. (sorry if that made little sense!)

We are going Oct. 5-6 before our cruise. I couldn't get FoP for either day or the morning of the cruise (10/7). I was really shocked! I've been checking back and noticed safaris and Everest are both already booked up for 10/6. Touring Plans shows crowds at a 6 so I don't understand how so much is booked up already.

This is our first trip since Pandora opened so my kids are disappointed. First world problems, I know!

My agent had no luck booking a FP for me for FOP at the 60-day window, either, so I'm just going to have to suck it up and get in line at rope drop. :(

If both are onsite room reservations, you can book for that AK day as soon as your FP window opens.

The Split Stay section in the FP FAQ describes the various Split Stay options and their booking windows.

Everyone has a different experience. I was on at the stroke of 7:00 a.m. today as well and I was able to score 6 FP+ for FoP on 10/10/17. I also tried to get them for 10/8/17, but there were none available so I took Navi River for that day. Safari both days and Everest on one day as well. Guess it is just luck of the draw. . . :confused3

I have a short trip planned and was unable to get FoP fast-passes at my 60 day window. I was able to get them 47 days out. I checked several times a day - when I got up in the morning, when I got to work, lunch time, right after dinner, and before I went to bed. Keep trying.

This is what I'm hoping for. If I can't get it at my 60 day, I'm just going to keep checking right up until day in the parks and just keep modifying plans.
