Thought I would share some thoughts on our long weekend trip, June 1-4. The biggest surprise was the crowds...wow...I wasn't anticipating it being so busy! We have traveled during holiday and spring break time and we all agree this was one of the most crowded we have seen the parks! The wait times were not too bad, just the walkways, shops, and restaurants were busy!
We stayed at the Park Vue Inn. We were very pleased with our stay. The rooms was clean and the staff very friendly. We had breakfast every morning and thought it was tasty. We never took advantage of the evening receptions though.
Our plan was to make Saturday a free day, but we all decided to go even with our APs blocked. I was suprised to find that blackout passes were raised along with all the tickets and AP prices in May. It costs $70 each now! I was worried that I wouldn't feel we got our moneys worth, but now I'm so glad we did! Saturday was by far the most manageable day.
Our Saturday highlights included a great Aladdin show, multiple rides on Screamin, and a delicious meal at Cafe Orleans! We had terrific viewing of F! and watched the fireworks as we rode Splash many times in a row!
Sunday was busy, busy, busy! We had Goofy's kitchen reservations at noon and spent most of the afternoon strolling the resort and downtown Disney. We returned to DL and ended up at Big Thunder Jamboree! This was one of the highlights of our trip! My kids loved learning to rope and square dance. The characters were everywhere! We enjoyed sitting on picnic benches coloring with Donald and Daisy in their cowboy attire! It was a quiet and relaxed activity that recharged our batteries for nighttime fun! Highly recommended!
We ended Sunday night with multiple rides of Grizzly Run! It's become a family tradition to get soaked at the end of each evening!
Monday was surprisingly busy as well. We enjoyed sundaes at Ghireldelis. Shopped and hit some last minute rides before heading to the airport in the evening. Unfortunately our plane was delayed and we spent 4 hours at LAX. I was so happy to finally make it home last night!
I think summer is going to be crazy busy this year! My best advice is go early, take an afternoon rest, then return for dinner, FPs, and evening entertainment.
