Hi all

DH and I just got back from short trip to WDW (April 27-30) without our kiddos. We had a great time and the crowds were not bad at all. We were not on the DDP. I'm going to do a quick run-down of the meals we had..

Sunday Lunch - Sunshine Seasons at Epcot. I had never eaten here before but after seeing reviews thought this would be a good place to have something besides burgers/fries. DH got Oriental food and I got a goat cheese beet salad that was really good. It was not crowded because we got there early (11am). The desserts looked great but we didn't get any.

Sunday afternoon snack - France Counter Service (forgot name). I got a quiche, DH got a ham/cheese croissant sandwich. They warmed both of them up for us. We split a Napoleon for dessert. The quiche was really good but then again I love quiche.

Sunday dinner - Citrico's. This was a great place. I was surprised to see several kids there but they were all well behaved. I guess somehow in my mind I expected there to be less kids. The service was good - we had 2 servers. One did seemed to handle the first part of our meal and then the second one finished us off. Wasn't sure if this was planned or just the way it happened. I skipped appetizer and had Pork tenderloin meal. It was good. Garlic and mushrooms flavored. Dh had rib-eye which he enjoyed. We finished the meal with chocolate banana torte that was wonderful! The meal took about 1 1/2 hours which was great because we wanted to get to MK for Wishes at 10pm.

Next day coming....

I so look forward to going to the World with out the kids! Someday :rolleyes1
Sounds good so far :goodvibes

DH & I are going "kidless" for the first time next trip, CAN'T WAIT!!!:cool1:

2nd day of our trip

This was a lazy day for us (we stayed at MK EMH the night before until 1am!). So we did breakfast at food court at POFQ - standard WDW fare - nothing special but not bad either.

We had some pool time - DH woke up later than me and got a sandwich and some beignets to share. We enjoyed a drink from the pool bar as well ;)

We headed to DTD for some quick shopping (had to bring home some goodies for dd) and then a movie since we rarely go to movies by ourselves. I grabbed a quick pretzel snack before the movie. popcorn::

So... the highlight of our trip was our dinner - Victoria and Albert's - WOW!
WOW! WOW! doesn't even begin to describe it. If you are not familiar - it is a six course fixed price dinner. They seat you and you are given personalized menus with our names and date on them. (My name was mis-spelled but that had a corrected one by the end of our dinner). You start with a amuse bouche (a pre-appetizer) and then 6 more courses. For each course there are a minimum of 3 choices (or more) and you select which ones you would like. It is a fancy, 2-3 hour, delectable delight! We both did wine pairing (they pair each course with an appropriate wine and pour it before each course). We enjoyed sampling the food with the wine. This was a once in a lifetime treat - spectacular! My DH loves good food and is becoming an excellent cook (loves Food TV). He didn't really know how good this was going to be. He kept teasing me that how we could we ever go back to "pedestrian" food after this meal... :rotfl2:

If you ever have the chance (and money because it is expensive) I would highly recommend trying this. It was a wonderful treat. Oh.. at the end they bring the ladies a single stem red rose. :cloud9:

Last day coming...

you can never go wrong with quiche, croissants and a napoleon in france!

Last Day (it was a short trip)

Got up, did food court for breakfast - after that big dinner I wasn't hungry for anything more than oatmeal. DH and breakfast croissant sandwich. We made it to AK before rope drop and did EE twice. We only had a few things we wanted to do here and got them all done by 11! We grabbed a quick snack at a coffee/pastry place. I got the cinnamon coffee cake - it is very moist and very good. Dh got a creme cheese pastry.

Next we headed off to DHS. We did a few rides and then had lunch at Brown Derby (ADR was at 1:30pm). We were sitted quickly and had a very nice server. They brought some warm rolls with butter - yumm. I had halibut and Dh had tofu/chicken noodle bowl. Both of our dishes were very good. The halibut had a lemon sauce on it.

For dessert I had flourless choc cake - now somehow in my mind I was thinking of a warm dense cake - maybe like lava cake?? It was cold and almost like eating pure chocolate. It was fine but way too rich - I ate half of it. Dh had grapefruit cake - it was light and moist. Very good...

The rest of the day we just snacked around (fries, ice cream). We did go to Prime Time Bar and have a drink around 4:30 (we had finished what we wanted to see and were killing time until Fantasmic). Bartenders were nice - we sat and played cards and had a drink. One bartender didn't know her beers very well though... It was a nice place to sit and chill.

That is it for our trip... short and sweet and yummy :goodvibes
