Hello,

We planned a last minute trip yesterday to go for a short Disney trip before my 6 year old gets to old. It is her first time and I really want her to see/meet princesses. Character meals are all booked. Is there any information you guys can give me on where to meet Princesses in MK on a Sunday? Cinderella is her favorite but I know whe will take what she can get. Any advise will help. I will def ask a staff member when we get there Sunday morning in MK for character info but thought some of you may have some more information for me. Monday we are doing AK for half the day then Epcot. Or for a 6 and 8 year old, would you do something other than Epcot for a half day. Either way, please give any character information you may have on Epcot and AK or the other suggestion you have.

Cinderella is almost always in Princess Hall in MK. You can get FP+. In her line, you'll meet her and one other princess. There is a second line (and FP+) in the same building where you meet Rapunzel. Ariel (in mermaid form) is available in her grotto most of the time too. Merida is also out most of the day, in a garden area near the castle and the fantasyland / tomorrowland border. We picked two princess meets for FP+ and did another early in the morning.

Thank you,
Is that something you can schedule or just have to show up and get in line? Sorry, but does FP stand for Free Picture? If not, what does that mean please?

Which character meals do you have? Cinderella's Royal Table and Akershus are great for meeting princesses. If you have either you should almost definitely see 4 out of 5 of the following: Cinderella, Ariel, Aurora, Belle, Snow White. You might also see Jasmine, Alice, Mulan, or Mary Poppins if one of those princesses is unwell.

But here's a checklist of all (soon to be 13) Disney Princesses (and Queen Elsa) and where to find them outside character dining:

  • Cinderella: MK: Princess Fairytale Hall
  • Aurora: MK:Princess Fairytale Hall or Epcot France's garden
  • Snow White: MK: Princess Fairytale Hall or in Epcot's Germany
  • Belle: Epcot's France near the lagoon
  • Jasmine: Does not meet by herself outside meals, but can be met with Aladdin at either the entrance to Adventureland in MK or in a shop in Epcot's Morocco
  • Ariel: MK: Ariel's Grotto (mermaid form)
  • Pocahontas: AK: along the trails near Discovery Island
  • Mulan: Epcot's China
  • Tiana: MK in a gazebo just off the Hub entrance to Liberty Square. Naveen joins her around 4:30 if you'd like to meet both of them.
  • Rapunzel: MK: Princess Fairytale Hall
  • Merida: MK: Fairytale Garden just off the hub near Tomorrowland. Her line gets long (though not nearly as long as the next one), so I'd recommend going at rope drop.
  • Anna and Elsa: Epcot's Norway. The wait will be several hours if you're not near the front of the pack at RD and it'll stay that long all day, but you can have an adult hold a place in line and bring the kids when it's time.

You can book Fast Passes for Ariel and the two sides of Princess Fairytale Hall (Fairytale Hall is actually two character lines: typically one side has Rapunzel and Snow White and the other has Cinderella and Aurora, but this can sometimes change). But be warned that FPs for characters don't work all that well. I had a FP for Rapunzel one afternoon and still waited 45 minutes to see her. Prioritizing which princesses you want and going to them at rope drop is a better strategy.

FP stands for Fast Pass. It's Disney's way to let people jump to the front of the standby line for certain attractions. Sounds like you're staying off property. If that is the case you'd have to find a FP kiosk and sign up for passes. Instead, I'd get to MK before Ripe Drop at 9 and as soon as you get through the gates power walk right through the castle to Fairy Tale Hall.

FP+ stands for Fast Pass + - the attraction reservation system that is being implemented. If you are staying at Disney hotel, you can make them ahead of time. If you are staying elsewhere, you can make them when you get to the park. You will still have to wait. And as the previous person said, some days they work better than others. We had them work and only waited 5 or 10 minutes, but other days they have difficulties with the system and you may still wait a half hour or more.

Akershus in Epcot is a great place to see the princesses and usually have openings- maybe consider an 8 am breakfast at Akershus. I don't know if you are interested in Hollywood Studios (they have Disney Jr. there) but, if you don't want to spend the morning at Epcot you can take the back entrance to the boat which takes you straight to HS after your meal.

If breakfast isn't your thing you could do dinner. Also at Epcot, if you have a Disney Credit card, you can meet at least three characters in their special meet and greet- should be every day between 1-7 in Innoventions west- I think. The waiting is very minimal and you usually see Minni, Goofy, and one other. You get a free print too.

Oh- and I will say Cinderella's Royal Table is expensive but wonderful and I have two boys! Just knowing your eating in the castle is so neat!

Short notice this place is impossible to book BUT try walking up and seeing if you can get in when you are there if this is something you really want. That is what we did one evening for dinner and we got right in. No shows happen so you never know. For us character meals are totally worth it- beats waiting in line for hours.

Go to kennythepirate.com Kenny is awesome. The website will show you what all characters are in which parks, where they are, and will have their schedules. He also has an app for your phone which makes it really handy while you are there. My DD has always been a character nut and Kenny's website and app have been extremely helpful to us in planning out our meet and greets.

Also, on the princess meals, keep checking the website for cancellations, if you can check it several times a day. They do pop up. Also, check at the restaurant too- we have seen people who could not get ADRs at CRT get lucky enough to walk up that day and get scheduled in. I would check when you first get there and see if they can find anything that day- and I would also check back right when lunch starts. I have to say, I don't think we have ever seen anyone walk up and get into Akershus at EPCOT- we've seen a ton of people turned away there-- but almost every trip we see CRT take someone in. We've also seen them take someone in- and then turn the next person away, so it is matter of good timing!

Have you tried 1900 park fare for dining at dinner? Cinderella and Prince Charming are there. Usually has openings in my experience. Also keep checking for openings, I scored a Chef Mickey breakfast reservation for our upcoming trip on short notice!!

Enjoy your trip!!

I second 1900 Park Fare for dinner!!

Also, take a look at Aukerhaus (in Norway, in Epcot.) Five princesses are there for Breakfast, Lunch, and dinner.
