I am 5ft 1inches tall on a good day! I am hoping there are other moms out there like me who are short and have a toddler and can share my pain....I am looking for a backpack carrier to fit my frame. We have one we bought at a discount store but only my 5'10 DH can wear it. It hits me somewhere between the buttocks and back of my thighs with all the straps tightened up. I am just curious if there is any one particular model that would fit my shorter frame with ease and comfort! TIA!!!!! :wave2:

Oh, how I feel your pain. I'm barely 5ft. tall. My 5 year old ds is up to my shoulder already, and my 2 year old is about up to my ribs. I'm sure people watch my carrying my 2 year old and laugh at me struggling. :rotfl:

I'm 5' 1 1/4", I have used Over the Shoulder Baby Holder, it is versatile, simple, and can be worn on the front, side or back. My 8 yr old DS's feet are almost as big as mine!!

I am 5' exactly and have always struggled with the front and back carriers. My 4 year old still wants to be carried up the steps every night for bed. And I wonder why I have neck pain. I envy mom's I see carrying their toddlers with no effort. Oh well, we get by right?

Thanks to all who have responded and yes.....humor is the only way we get by!!! My son is 14 months and wears a baby shoe size 6 double wide and he is 30 inches long. Thats half my length....the lady at the local grocery jokes and asks who is carrying who. I am on my way to kozycarrier.com. Thank you.....!

Wouldn't a stroller be easier for you? I'm 5"1 and I was never able to use a sling since my son is BIG!

Yesssss...a stroller would be easier for me but not for him. And being able to wear him comforts us both. But thank you anyways!!! :flower:

I'm 5'1", and my DS is 15 mos. and 26 lbs/31.5 inches tall so I'm right there with you all. We use both a Mei Tai style carrier and a frame pack depending on the application. If you are crafty and can sew, you can make your own Asian-style Baby Carrier (ABC) very easily by using directions at the following site: http://crafts.sleepingbaby.net/index.html We still do the front carry if DS is sick and clingy, but use it mostly for the back carry now. For big hikes or more stability (like when I needed to use the snowblower when my DH was out of town!) I like the frame pack and we use a Kelty Back Country which has an adjustable slider to fit varying torso lengths. Now that I look on the Kelty web site they have come out with new models, but some of them also have the adjustable torso sizing. We also use a stroller, which is what we use at WDW along with a quick in and out sling (a hotsling) for when lines are long.

Good Luck!

We use our stroller for when our babies get tired, but we definitely need a carrier for standing in lines since the stroller can't come with us! We used the baby bjorn until they hit around 20#. I then researched and researched and finally decided on an Ergo. While we haven't tried it in Disney yet, I used it in grocery stores and it works very well. You can wear it on the front or back. I'm am 5'1" tall and can use it just fine. Check it out on various websites. I bought mine at www.earthbaby.com
