DH and I are DLR vets. We will be doing a trip with my grandpa and some other random family who have never been, and grandpa hasn't been in over 30 years. We will only be there one day, so are wondering what are the biggest things they shouldn't miss.
We are doing a VIP tour so hopefully we should get a lot of rides done. What about treats and meals they just shouldn't miss out on?
We go so often we usually do a little of everything, so we are having difficulty coming up with a "Must Do" list for such a short trip.

I guess it depends on what Grampa is into? My grandad was a drama instructor and then taught drama to prisoners in max security prisons, lol. He LOVES the arts, especially music and drama, so when we took him the biggies we HAD to do were the Aladdin show (when it was there), Fantasmic, and the bands. He didn't care much for rides, but he is big into landscaping and gardening, so he enjoyed walking around enjoying the lovely gardens, or sitting outside with a cold drink. We also did afternoon tea at the Disneyland Hotel, and a nice breakfast at the Carnation Cafe.

I would see what your grandpa wants to do. The last time my grandparents came to DLR was 2005 (during the 50th craziness), and they werent too keen on the crowds, but really Enjoyed the foods.

Another option is to get MAXPASS for the day. Although many people use it for ride booking, you can get unlimited PhotoPass downloads. You can have some family photos done!
