Hi! The trip was truly awesome! We were a little hesitant at first about leaving the kids but it was not as bad as we thought. It was a completely different experience and we wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

We just ate at Jiko last night and I was so close to ordering the filet. Yours looks so good. Didn't partake an any apps, but they look awesome. Jiko is definitely first rate.

On our last day we got up and headed to Boma for breakfast. DH said this was one of the best breakfasts he had. I didn't take too many photos Sorry.
My plate consisted of a Mickey waffle, a Simba waffle, Bread pudding, bacon, scrambled eggs and a sticky bun. Everything was great but I didn't eat too much because I was still feeling it from Jiko. I didn't take any pictures of DH plate.

Hi! Have you ever tried California Grill? We have booked and cancelled California Grill three times so I can't say which one I prefer. For our upcoming trip in August I am planning on booking and keeping California Grill to finally give it a try. But Jiko was so amazing it is going to be on the list too. It has such a unique menu and we love trying new kinds of food. While California Grill sounds amazing, it's menu doesn't have the same "wow" factor as Jiko's.

Hi! AKL is such a beautiful resort. We absolutely loved it there. We ate at Sanaa for lunch on this trip(review coming up) and while both were absolutely delicious, I would pick Jiko for dinner. The restaurant is so nice too. If there is any way for you to fit in both (maybe Sanaa for lunch?) I would recommend that. If not I say go for Jiko.

Before being picked up to head to the airport, we ate lunch at Sanna. We took the internal van over to Kidani Village from Jambo House and walked back. The walk was very nice. This was another restaurant I really wanted to try. After four days of gorging ourselves we only ordered two entrees and a dessert and split everything.

DH and I ordered

Sanaa Burger
Spiced Mustard, Goat Cheese, Pickled Shallots, and Piquante Peppers served on Naan Bun with Roasted Potatoes and Pickle Spear
I subbed the Naan Bun for Naan Bread

Slow-cooked in Gravy, Simple and Well-seasoned
Choice of Two served with Basmati Rice or Five-Grain Pilaf - Butter Chicken, Goan Seafood Curry, Chicken Vindaloo, Spicy Durban Shrimp, or Beef Short Ribs
We chose the Basmati rice, Spicy Durban Shrimp and Beef short ribs


Wow! Everything was delicious! One of the issues with eating here is you want to order so many things (just like Jiko). Can't wait to eat here again!

For dessert I was dying to try the trio with the Chai cream but unfortunately it was no longer on the menu. We got the new trio which was very good.


I don't see a description on the menu but it was a chocolate dessert, a banana cheesecake and a strawberry dessert. Everything was really good. I couldn't leave without getting one last thing.

Godiva Liqueur Flight
Three half-ounce pours of Godiva Liqueur: Chocolate, White Chocolate, and Caramel topped with Godiva Liqueur-infused Strawberries

Good decision! I can't wait to do another dining report. I find other peoples so helpful. I'll have five people next trip and more days so more food to review! Have a great trip!
