Its Saturday morning and I round everyone up before 7am. I am anxious to get to the Animal Kingdom. I check the weather....WHAT!!! I think its warmer in New York...oh well. We put on layer over layer and I head down to breakfast with two out of three children. Husband and older son are taking a bit longer to get going. Huddled over coffee for warmth I watch the goings on around and marvel at the interactions going on. Kids are crying parents yelling and food being spilt everywhere!! Seems like home...ha ha ha. Oh well, I think it can be hard with very young children and mostly you need a good sense of humor about the whole thing.

Before long our pack gets back together and we are off. Of course we don't get there early enough for me...the gate is already OPEN!!! I wanted to be there to see the little opening up cermony. But some characters are there and Sarah gets a few hugs and pats as we race in...To the Safari Ride!! I shout leading them all in. Look later, run now. So we make a dash in to Africa, I just love that village its so realistic looking...and onto the safari ride!! It is really wonderful, the bridge thing isn't working and thats fine by me. The kids see all kinds of animals and there is some kind of a stampede going on and husband is taking a bunch of pictures...of backends of animals I am sure. There was no line here when we got on and not really one when we come back in. Now, go for Dinosaur Ride!! So we make a mad dash over there. No lines, we do the kid swap and the boys ride twice!! Sarah and I play with all the toy dinosaurs while the boys ride! Checking the schedule I see we should get ready for the Lion King Show, so we head over there. Dad takes the boys to look at some animals and Mom takes Sarah to the bathroom and for coffee (for mom Sarah gets a rice crispie mickey dipped in chocolate..it is 9:30am afterall) and we stop by to visit some of the characters. Sarah, true to form not being a morning person isn't really interested in anything so we just meet up with the boys and get in line for the lion king. Soon we are seated in the zebra section, not front row but just one or two rows back. We meet some really nice people around us and we talk while Sarah eats her mickey crispie and the boys look on enviously..ha ha I say picked the wrong parent to hang with..I HAVE THE MONEY!! The show is wonderful. Sarah is absolutely taken in...we all are. We have a bit of time after this show before Tarzan Rocks and did I mention we are FREEZING!! It is so cold. Husband takes us to Asia to see the Hippos. Anyone else thinking...Asian Hippos? But I am not going to fight him I figured it was worth the laugh to have him get their and then find out THEIR ARE NO ASIAN HIPPOS!! We stop to buy sweatshirts and we pin trade on the way. Sarah decides she doesn't want the crispie snack she must have a pretzel! Again she is with the right parent so the boys eat the crispie snack and mom gets hot chocolate and pretzels. We get to the Maharajah trek to find out...no food!! So Dad and older son take the walk through and Mom takes the other two back to the Playground in Dinosaur land. Sarah livens up for this and she and son #2 are off and running. Leaving mom with a pretzel and 2 cups of hot cocoa. Soon dad is radioing that they are over at the Tarzan show and we should come join them..he just sent son #2 off to buy french fries!! You sent him by himself? I screech into the radio. So I round my children..the ones that I didn't send off by themselves into a park of 10,000 people and off we go. We find dad but no older son. Go get seats dad says...so I march down to the front! Love those front seats and prepare to panic. Soon older son comes up in tears!! Where did you all go why did you leave me? Hello!! I was off with your brother and sister, you and dad made that decision to send you off. So I plugged a radio on him and made him swear not to listen to the man who took us ALL THE WAY TO ASIA to see a HIPPO!! But all was well and we enjoyed the show. For Sarah the highlight was Turk singing and reaching out to touch her hand! For the teenage girls next to us it was the handsome singer! After this show we walked around a bit but it was really too cold and by now it was after 1pm and we were hungry so it seemed a good time to go. Too cold for Kali River Rapids, we did the Tough to be a bug last time (Sarah HATED IT!!) so we headed out! We had big plans to get back into Magic Kingdom for the electric parade so we needed to go rest up!

I'm so with you on trying to get to a park before opening. I've tried that almost every day of our last two trips and never made it. You'd think that we would get it right at least once out of 10 or so tries!

I share your frustration on getting there when the park opens. Someday I will actually see that opening ceremony, even if it means telling the kids and my husband to "meet me there"!

Thanks for the report

Thanks for sharing your report with us...My son loved Tarzan Rocks and of course I loved the music in it! Sounds like it was great except for the cold!!
