I've read that stores in the theme parks will send your packages to your resort for you??? Wondering if you have to have a certain size or spend a certain amount...or will them send a $10 purchase to your resort for you?

I've never encountered a limit, and we've shipped some rather small and inexpensive things back to our hotel room. Of course, the complementary service is only to Disney resorts

The on-site DVC resorts, yes.

I dont think there is a limit at all!

However...I wouldn't send a 10.00 pin through the system. I usually carry small items myself(too easy to get lost)...just the BIG things I have shipped back to the resort.

THIS IS A HUGE + FOR STAYING ONSITE!

We've sent everything through and never had a problem. We won dinosaurs at Chester's and Hester's and the store nearest to there was kind enough to send those on to our resort without further purchase.

Wow! That's incredibly generous.

I'm famous for this. I don't believe in "thinking about it" in WDW you never know if it will still be there. I buy it and have it shipped back to our resort. W/ a toddler and all her gear in toe and extra bag can feel like a ton. I usually have a message everday that I have a package waiting. There is no limit to having a package sent but be aware that it won't usually arrive until the next afternoon so make sure it's not something you need that night or your not leaving the next day!

We always send everything back to our resort. Its just easier. Ive sent back a half box of popcorn with a purchase of a pen and they did it.
Now I do have a question we always stay at value and they no longer send the packages to the actual room but to the main store. Is it like that at the other resorts?

This will be great, and yes, we're staying at a Disney resort (Beach Club)! I saw the candy store in MK on Food Network and was worried about taking the sweets on Splash Mountain!! :rotfl:

We stayed at AKL in April 2003, and the packages were all sent to the gift shop, not the room. So I guess it's like that in all the resorts.

It's very convenient. I sure wish they sent the purchases to our room , because everytime we went to the gift shop to get our packages, we ended up seeing something else we wanted! Hmmm.. Maybe that's what Disney is hoping for also! :rotfl:

Does this service include Fort Wilderness ? :confused3

now, we stayed at AKL in May and had two things sent back to the resort (on two separate days) -- one went straight to our room, the other we had to get at the gift shop!! go figure!!

Just one note of warning. We won some stuffed animals at AK and had them sent to our hotel. That wasn't a problem. However, they got lost somewhere. When we asked about it they said they'd look into it. A couple hours later we had a message they were ready for pick up in the gift shop. DH picked them up and they weren't ours. Apparently they tried to replace the ones they lost and got the colors all wrong (the only way the kids knew) and as an added bonus they threw in a larger sized stuffed toy. We were all fine with it. Then yesterday, after being home for about 2 weeks, UPS guy shows up with a box for DH from Disney. They found our original prizes and sent them to us. So now we have families of frogs, dinos and dragons :rotfl:

We always take advantage of this. I have sent a postcard back to the room so it didn't get bent. Actually I think the CM offered that even before I asked. It is so convienent. We have never had any trouble with it.

not sure if the readers of the post know, but you can also ship items home for a very reasonable $10 (up to $100worth). my son wanted the large tree of life and i couldn't imagine carrying on the plane-- the CM told me about it. as long as it's a disney purchase. we gathered up our stuff for the week and shippedit back- we received it in less than a week!

I agree on many items, that it's much more convenient to have them sent directly home. My daughter bought a Princess snowglobe, packed it in her luggage, and of course it broke (not irreparably, thank goodness). If it's something fragile, consider paying the freight and have Disney ship it home for you.

We always have most of our purchases shipped directly to our home. If you tell them you are doing this before they check you out there is no sales tax added, this goes a long way toward paying the shipping charges if you group several items togeather. When we went in June some of our pakages even beat us home. DH wasn't able to go with DD and I so he was here to receive them. Some of DD's purchases were for Father's Day so he couldn't open the boxes to see what we bought, just had to suffer the temtation till we got home. :earboy2:
