I am glad that I did a search for this topic. I was about to start a thread asking which was better: convection ovens or toaster ovens. I have never had a convection oven, but I have heard that they are faster than conventional ovens but slower than microwaves.
My oven is probably over 30 years old because I have used it for the nearly 23 years that I have lived here, and it is so old that the repairman who came out didn't even have the parts for it. It blew up a couple of weeks ago and scared me with sparks flying while my food was still inside. Since the landlady is not big on fixing things and has told me to take care of this myself, I am looking to buy an oven that belongs to me. Buying a small oven that is big enough for just the two of us who live here makes more sense than fixing the landlady's oven, which is old and likely to break again soon anyway. I will leave her oven in the range alone the same way as I leave things like the peeling paint in the bathroom alone. If that is the way that she wants it, it is not my property; and my rent is paid up. Whatever.
Do you think a toaster oven or a convection oven is better for my purposes?
