Shopping for a 13 year old girl

Be careful about the Claire's mustache stuff though. It seems that every piece my daughter has bought has broken incredibly fast. The necklace in particular only lasted a few days.

Can't say. She picked out a pair of earrings, but those aren't arriving till Christmas. She was having fun playing with a pair of sunglasses that had a pink mustache hanging off of them (which is now her profile pic-lol) and there was an earring holder/stand in the shape of a mustache. Thinking about going back to get the earring stand, but haven't decided yet. She needs to put her earrings somewhere (better organized) and I have a $10 off $20 coupon that we got from the previous purchase.

You guys are lucky your teens are into 1D! My DD who is 14 has this on her list:

Anything from the following bands:
My Chemical Romance
Black Veil Brides
Falling in Reverse
All Time Low
Pierce the Veil
Sleeping with Sirens

DD12 ran into Falling in Reverse at the airport when her class was on their annual trip last year. They were actually very nice and spent several minutes talking to the kids. All the kids thought it was the highlight of their trip!

(And I have to admit I like My Chemical Romance too :thumbsup2)

My kids love 1D and always beg for magazines - Teen Beat, Bop, etc. As a matter of fact, I think I am going to order them right now.

You can pretty much walk into Claire's and walk out with stuff she will love. My 12 year old really enjoys that store!

My DD just about died when I read her your post! :lmao: She loves finding other MRC fans. ;)
She's met Falling in Reverse and they were so nice to her too. She got their autographs but that lead singer...always in some kind of trouble and she loves calling him her husband :rotfl2:

Looks like you've found your gift...:thumbsup2

My DD asked for 1D onesie pajamas - apparently they sell them at a 1D store in New York. :confused3 I found a suitable substitute on ebay, although I had to pay for shipping from England.

She also likes anything that seems British at the moment...she is currently asleep in her Union Jack flag shorts and a "Talk British to Me" t-shirt - both of which I found at JCPenney.

I find it amusing because she is exactly like I was when I was her age (and, ahem, obsessed with NKOTB). Her big gift this year (and possibly for the next several years!) is tickets to a 1D concert next year. She is going to freak out and I can't wait! And I will (not so) secretly admit that I might be looking forward to the show *almost* as much as she will be. :rolleyes1

I've never heard of Falling in Reverse, but that is so cool that both girls met them! I like MCR also, but my big love is Fall Out Boy. My parents gave me tickets to their concert when I was younger for a Christmas present, and it is still one of my all time favorites! I seriously cried when broke up :rotfl:

LOL Same here...I was OBSESSED with NKOTB and now have a DD13 obsessed with 1D. NKOTB was my very first concert and 20 years later was also my DD's (and almost my younger DD's too but we gave away the free tix to that one).

Emily bought 1D concert tix for their Hershey show in July 2013 back in July 2012. LOL I think they should count for a few years worth of gifts too. She loves Harry and now DD6 is in love with Zayn so we already have way too much 1D stuff in the house.

I just found jammies for the youngest at Walmart but now will have to get some for the oldest since she needs adult sizes. She is also getting the doll, 1D duvet cover, a 1D pillowcase for a body pillow, 1D game, and puzzles. We also got her some sheets/bedding to match the British Flag motif that she wants for her room. They also both like the packs of trading cards so those will be sticking stuffers.

DD13 (will be DD14 next week) wants season Broadway theater tickets, Sims games, and amazon gift cards. She's also asking for a North Face fleece. I'm not sure which one to get her, and since they're so expensive, I don't want to get the "wrong" one...lol. DD isn't into 1D, but she's into Twilight & Hunger Games. I also am thinking about getting her her own Kindle Touch. She keeps on taking mine!

My daughter just turned 13 this month but there is nothing in claires that she would want, she stopped liking things from there a year or two ago.
On her list are Uggs, Ugg gloves, Sephora makeup, itunes gift cards, movie gift cards, hollister shirts and other random stuff. She likes One Direction but is not crazy about them and doesn't have anything on her list with them.

You pretty much just summed up my DD 13 as well, except for Ugg boots, she doesn't care for those. My DD HATES with a passion, anything one direction and her friends drive her crazy with it, they all love them and she becomes almost physically ill when she hears them Loves Sephora or Ulta, and Hollister She also loves money

I swear if I don't get a new key board with a period that works I am going to scream

OP, I think I saw a couple of people mention Justice, be careful most 13 year olds around here wouldn't be caught dead in Justice

My daughter wears pants from justice and she hates it- she would LOVE to buy pant in aero or other places but she is small and doesn't fit into even the smallest sized pants there yet. She hasn't worn justice shirts since 5th grade because she can fit into an extra small at aero but she can get away with the pants because they don't say justice on them.

That's my daughter too.

She won't go into Justice unless her younger sister is with us. She'll wear the pants, because even the XS ones from Aero are too big. But she's got to give the appearance that we're only in Justice because of her 9 year old sister.

It's such a fun age, just full of wonderful contradictions.

LOL---I go in and pick up the pants and bring them home, she won't even go in there! If by some chance she doesn't like one of them I just return them.

Well that would make sense, I don't have that problem I have a friend and her DD is still in 5th grade and is tiny, her jeans from there are very cute and don't say anything about justice What turns my DD off is all the Justice logos and crazy designs

ETA, Ok I have to quite responding until I get a new keyboard, this no period thing is really making my posts look worse than normal

I did have to go in there for a very specific bra that they have My DD isn't very big up top and they have a bra that was recommended to use with her cheer uniform, luckily we had a younger girl with us lol

Anything from the following bands:
My Chemical Romance
Black Veil Brides
Falling in Reverse
All Time Low
Pierce the Veil
Sleeping with Sirens

Google them, you will feel my pain!:rotfl2:

OP, the stores Hot Topic, FYE, and Claire's in my local mall have tons of 1D stuff. Things like tshirts, bags, wallets, pj's, posters, calendars, socks, blankets, pillow cases, etc...

I have a neice who is 11 and a huge 1D fan, her list consists of everything she can think of from the band. lol

My almost 13 yo DD is the same!! Hates anything "girly" (although she loves to do her hair and paint her nails, :confused3 ) She is also really into DubStep and Skrillex, which drives me insane...it just sounds like noise to me!

All she has asked for is iTunes cards and cash, and the Xtra Xtra high Converse (which I think are horrible so I refuse to buy them), but she is getting a pair of regular high top Converse and a few other things. I am at a total loss this year!

My son's love all of those bands. Just add in August Burns Red, Breathe Carolina, DeadMaus? and Rise Against and you have their whole wardrobe. T-shirts are quite ugly, but they love them. I make them put on a hollister or AE shirt if we are going somewhere as a family, but otherwise they practically live in those band shirts.

Oh my DD likes those bands too! I do the same thing if we are going out! No band t-shirts!!

I can understand the comfort of the band t's though! ;)
