Who shops the day after turkey day?
What great deals have you found before or hope to find this year?
Do you shop alone or with friends?
What time do you go?
Are you crazy, ahem..I mean "super organized" and have a game plan?
Let's hear those busiest-shopping-day-of-the-year strategies!! :cheer2:

I think Im just gonna watch football

We've done it in the past, but we're sitting this year out. It was just too ugly and not fun any more after last year. We saw people pushing and shoving, yelling obsentities at each other - saving a few bucks is not worth that aggravation! And besides, the same crap they have on "sale" would be for sale at the same price a couple weeks later. My friends and I this year are going to get up early, meet at a local coffee shopt and plan our shopping lists. Then we're going home and we're putting up our outdoor Christmas decorations.

It's a ritual for me. I look forward to Thanksgiving day so I can run out and buy a newspaper for the ads.(that's a lie- I make dad go out and buy it) And just getting the Chicago Tribune isn't enough. No, no, I gotta buy the Chicago Sun Times, too, because one year, there were ads missing from one, so I get both to cover my bases.

Then, while the bird's in the oven, Mom and I scour the ads - but ONLY when we're both ready. One year, she was finishing up on something in the kitchen and told me to wait for her until I rip open the paper. So, I went to watch tv and when I came back, she and my cousin were looking at the ads!! The NERVE!!!!! :rotfl2:

Anyway, I make my shopping list and plan out my itinerary based on the distance of the stores and the times they open. It's an exact science. I shop solo too. DH used to go with me, but I think he came to his sense a year or two ago, and it's kinda better doing it alone.

But, this year, they're giving me a hard time at work about having the day off. I've ALWAYS had it off!!! Last time I worked that day was when I worked retail. I'm so bummed. No shopping the day after?? What am I gonna do?? :rotfl:

I may be crazy but shopping on Black Friday is alot fun.
:earboy2: It starts to gets me in the Christmas mood. Mind you I've never had to shop at Walmart or buy the item everyone else wants.
Last year I got some great decorations for the lawn. Got some good buys at Kohls, and some other stores.

I got the link from this board and I have no idea who to credit for the find, but this site lists all black friday deals once it's announced. I don't think there is anything listed yet, but you could bookmark it for when they start.

oh yes, Im a Black Friday Addict, I admit it.

I plan my trip in the days and weeks before and then get up extra early and shop my little heart out, usually with friends.
we have a strategy and a plan, we know what each other is looking for so we split up for a while and we each try to get each others things.

Hey, everyone needs a hobby ;)

I have shopped on Black Friday in the past but not that much in recent years. It's gotten to be such a hassle that a bargain really has to be something outstanding to lure me out to deal with mega traffic jams and rude shoppers. It's just not that fun any more but I used to really enjoy it.

This year, I will be traveling to WDW on Black Friday so I'm hoping a LOT of people will be at the mall shopping and not on the road! :teeth:

I always hit the malls on Black Friday, but usually don't buy too much. I don't have a plan.

I just like the Christmas decorations, the hustle and bustle, and yes...even the crowds! It gets me into the Christmas spirit.

I don't plan on doing any of my shopping there, so it's easy to just relax and go with the flow. If I see something - I'll pick it up, but I don't have an agenda. I usually do my shopping later in the year.

DD usually picks me up about 0600 in the morning and we start our day. This is going to be the first year with Kohl's to shop at on Black Friday. What kind of deals do they normally have?

Just found out DH has to work that a.m. so unless I want to shop with 4 kids in tow, I'll be staying home. Kinda bummed about that. On the bright side we'll be leaving for WDW either that night or the next a.m. so I guess it's better if I don't tire myself out. :cheer2:

Last year I went with my aunt and we had a blast. Both got lots of great deals, shopped from about 6 a.m. to around 1:00 then had lunch, went home and crashed! Fun stuff!! :goodvibes

I'm one of the people who avoids shopping on the day after Thanksgiving like the plague! Honestly, the last time I shopped on Black Friday, I was in high school and trust me, that was a long time ago! I just don't get why anyone wants to deal with those insane crowds. I don't think any bargain is worth it.
JMO.

I've heard there are some of the Black Friday deals online. That's something I could get into! Anyone done this?

Shopping Black Friday is a family tradition.. we get out really earlier and stand in line at Best Buy or Circuit City for whatever electonic is on sale , then make our way to the pother stores on the list...

While one of us is waiting in line for the first store, the rest go to Dunkin donuts and get coffes, hot chocolate , after we are done with the shopping we go out for breakfast... then come home and collapse...

I go to http://www.bf2005.com/ to see the deals...

I do it once every few years. We travel a lot for Thanksgiving, so it's not possible a lot of the time. I've always been glad that I did it when I have done it. This year all of my kids will be old enough for me to leave them at home with DH, and I think I am going to do it. I did it one year when Jacob was 11 months old and took him with me because I was afraid that he may not do well waking up and not being able to nurse. It wasn't a good idea. People kept bumping into my cart, and I was afraid he'd be hurt.

Ah Black Friday.....I have now roped DH into it. hehehehe....

Last year we got the $200.00 computer from Best Buy, cheap TV from Sears, battery backups, routers & wireless computer thingy as well, Best Buy, I think.

This year we are going to go for another computer, we would like a "all in one" laser/fax/color/printer thing, but they just have not come down in price enough, just yet.

We shop all electronics this day because you can get great deals.

I am usually up about 4 a.m and then out the door by 4:30 and at the store that opens at 5 - used to be K-Bee but they are now closed so don't know what I am doing this year. I have a toy lay-a-way at Walmart of the stuff that I saw I wanted for my 3 kids already. Last year I changed jobs just before Black Friday and had to work. It was hard sitting there concentrating knowing that I could be out in the crazy crowds - just love them. There was a lady a couple of years ago at Target that was screaming at the top of her lungs that it wasn't fair that Target didn't have in stock one item that they advertised and was pretty nasty - I think that was the only time I ever saw someone so upset over an electronics game system I think. There wasn't much I saw I wanted but I was out about that time anyways to shop by myself - first time as my Mom and Aunt used to go with me. I will wait and see what they have in sales before I make up my mind what I am doing. I do sit on Thanksgiving Day and circle in each add what I want and then I plan what time I am at each store. I love Target on Black Friday - they ususally have the best sales. I do head to JC Pennys for their disney globe handout. I thought about taking the day off but afraid to ask as I have to have minor surgery on the 4th of November - be out 2 days (Friday & Monday) and then we have Veterans Day off then Thanksgiving Day off. Time will tell.

I LOVE shopping on Black Friday!! The major place I go first and stay at the most is Macys. Every year on Thanksgiving they come out with the 10.00 off a 10.00 or more purchase. Well I go out and get 20-25 papers from the bagel store up the road, they don't charge me since they never sell many papers on thanksgiving and have stacks extra, I just have to leave them the front cover so they get credit for them....and off I go on Firday morning to Macys...I get my moms clothes for the year, I can find a shirt on sale for her for 10.99 and after the coupon it is a whoe 99 cents I owe! I buy the deerform slippers and they usually are 11.00 on sale and with the coupon they cost me 1.00! Last year I got her a nice pajama set for 2.50 after the coupon...I love going home and seeing everything I got for under 50.00!!

I will be flying home from Disney that day after spending most of the day at Typhoon Lagoon with our band. :) :bounce:
