I'd like to get a gift card for my DS for our upcoming Potter trip. I've been reading that Universal Gift Cards can't be used in shops directly. Would you folks recommend something like an American Express card instead?

Yes...either a VISA or AMEX gift card would be better since he could use it in any of the stores w/o having to exchange it like you do with the Universal gift cards.

Thanks for the advice Amex card it is. Too bad. Disney cards are so easy to use and fun to give.
