shopdisney EGIFT card 40 percent off (deactivated)

I purchased a Disney e-gift card this morning with the 40% promo. It went pending in my bank account so I thought I was in the clear until I received a call from Disney stating that they were not going to honor the 40% promo, so they cancelled it :(

I got the phone call too. I wonder if the people who had it delivered still had the value of it?
 
I was one of the ones that received the discounted card. I paid 90 for 150 and transferred it to a plastic card. They deactivated the e gift card and took the money away from my gift card that I had transferred it to.

We should be okay - and we can all use this screenshot to verify. I contacted them after the deal had been taken down for hours, 2 1/2 hours after purchase. When I heard that others who had purchased $500 gift cards without the deal were receiving theirs already, I contacted to see what was going to happen - receipt of gift card, or a refund. Jessica with shopdisney confirmed that the gift card deals placed during the brief time window that the 40% off was offered, will be honored:

I haven't received the gift card, but I also have not gotten communication saying it's canceled. The order still looks normal on ShopDisney.com. :confused3 I'm assuming it will be canceled, but why is it taking so long?

Unfortunately, a confirmation on your order won't really help if they decide to cancel those gifts cards. They're not obligated to honor a glitch and have been known to cancel these kinds of things. Not saying they will, but they can.

Ive talked to them twice now and flat out asked them if they were cancelling and they didnt say they were. They are making sure the funds go through before releasing the cards, probably to make sure if there is any problem then they can use that to cancel some but not all.

That's great. Just saying, they could if they chose to. Usually your source of payment is checked before the purchase actually goes through, but hope it works out for you.
 
I was escalated twice, and even with the screenshot and chat logs stating the discount would be honored yesterday at 12:30pm, was told that the discount will not be honored and I will receive a refund (I wasn't expecting otherwise). They offered "free shipping on the next order."

I just got my phone call about canceling the order. I asked,"so what am I going to get in compensation?" They told me nothing and I said that is not reasonable. She gave me a phone number to call and I will be sent an email with a free shipping code. If others have gotten the phone call and haven't received anything I suggest perusing for a free shipping code. It's not a $200 savings but it's better than nothing.

Not surprised. It's happened before with these glitches on shopdisney and they don't honor them.
 
They don’t have to honor the e gift cards that were issued due to a technical problem, but they do have to return the original funds used in the transaction. Nobody should lose any of their own money on this deal. Just double check that your credit card was refunded after the gift cards get deactivated.

Just WOW Disney ! I understand cancelling the orders in process etc but this takes the cake.
