Hi all,
Thinking of booking a Disney cruise through Costco for the shopCostco card benefit. I noticed though that the card amount is in USD. I can't seem to figure out if these can be used here or if the funds convert to Canadian. Has anyone used these in the Canadian stores/online? TIA!!

Are you on the proper website? Costco.ca and not .com? I only ask this because I made that mistake once.
Costco cards are given in Canadian $$ when we book in Canada even though the booking is in US dollars. For example, we have three cabins booked for a upcoming cruise. The cards we are receiving are for $475, $475 and $615. All are in Canadian dollars.
It's a pretty good deal when you think about how much you are putting out for the cruises.

We have booked cruises in the past with Costco and have another booked for next year, and the cards were always in CAD. Like Tinkerone mentioned, is it possible you are not on the Canadian site?

Thank you both! I thought we were on the Canadian site, but I wasn't logged in. Maybe it will come up right when I do. But it sounds like this is definitely worth it!

I would suggest looking at the DCL site before booking with Costco. If you are willing to book a non refundable cruise you can save more than the Costco card. My DD is going to work on DCL this winter (we want to visit her) and we can book a non refundable cruise for $1000 less on their site.

It's soooo worth it to book through Costco if you don't already have a travel agent you use! You usually get back about 8% of the cruise fare (less taxes) in a Costco shop card. On our westbound PC cruise we got back over $1900. The pricing for DCL is shown in USD but the Costco card amount on the website (costcotravel.ca) is in Canadian!

Plus, if I'm not mistaken, if your an Executive Member you get 2% back with your reward check at the end of your membership year on top of the gift card. I believe that started a few years ago but since Covid we haven't traveled to verify this actually works.

Yes, I forgot about this added benefit. A little extra cash for us to look forward to. Thanks for the reminder!
