Shooting at local hospital

At approximately 11:00 am this morning a woman was shot at one of our hospitals.

It was a domestic dispute. They had been in court earlier that morning over a previous incident. They were outside the hospital trying to work things out when he shot her in the head 2X. They transported her to the other hospital where she is in critical condition. He fled the scene and was later arrested at home. She has 2 small children.

The man that shot her is a neighbor of my grandmother's. I used to play with him when I was a kid.

That is absolutely HORRIBLE! I am shocked she is even in critical condition.

I was wrong in stating that they were in court earlier that morning. They were in court on Wednesday. She was trying to get a protective order and the magistrate denied it.

On Wednesday, Tanya DeWitt sought protection from Gregory Dalton through the legal system.

She appeared at Monongalia County Magistrate Court and applied for a domestic violence protective order.

But the 27-year-old's request was denied by Magistrate Michael Roberts, who wrote on the form: "No threat of immediate nature."

One of their little boys goes to school with Kendra. When they found out about the shooting, the school was put in lockdown until the father was captured.
