shoot me now! scattered showers every day 1st week OCT!!!! helppppp

Just sounds like normal Florida weather to me, that was the forcast the entire time I lived there.

It did that when we were in FL for our honeymoon. We'd take a nap, wake up and people would be talking about the storm! What storm? It looked the same outside, nice and sunny, as it did when we laid down!

My goodness! Even in 'real' rain you can have a blast in the parks! Just grab a poncho and an umbrella! :thumbsup2 We were the 9/12-9/19 and there were 'scattered' showers every day. We barely noticed them..if fact it was so hot they were a welcome break! Don't worry about a little rain! :goodvibes

My wife is from NJ and I laugh...she just doesn't understand FL weather

Yes it rains every day in Sept.....but it rains for like 20 minutes everyday.

I guess in NJ.... she got use to "rain" being a all day kind of thing :umbrella: :fish: :fish:

I've been at WDW in every month from June through October and on each trip it rained at least one almost every day. It's no big deal. Storms come in, you head for an the indoor attractions or lunch or dinner and in a couple hours, the sun is out again. This kinf of weather happens all the time in Florida. It's just part of being there to me. You will have a great time anyway!:cloud9:

honestly, you are stressing over weather next week?

it will change forecast four times by then..

Plus, what can you do about it? Just pack some ponchos and deal with it.

Don't stress stuff you can not change

Don't worry about it. Just look for my family. Trust me, you can pick us out. My DS and oldest DD will be the ones skipping down main street. I'll be the red head shaking my head and smiling behind them. DH and youngest DD will be behind me, just trying to keep up. My thought, "I'm at Disney! No amount of rain is keeping me from having fun!" Also, can me crazy, but I don't bother with ponchos. Just don't wear white shirts.
:rotfl:  :rolleyes1  :rotfl:

Loads of the rides are inside anyway plus those that aren't aren't "thrilling" enough to close down unless there are major thunderstorms. It's not like other parks that all but close down at the sight of rain.

Bring an umbrella and forget about it! Heck, I'd actually like the rain, no sunscreen! I have to put on GOBS of it all over and I hate it!

I agree with everyone else. Don't worry about the rain.

We were at WDW from 9/9-9/15 this year. It rained every day we were there. Surprisingly, it was mostly at night (where it usually seems to be in the early afternoon).

We were not inconvenienced by the rain at all (of course, if we would have been at the flooded out MNSSHP on 9/14, that would have been bad......).

Just have ponchos with you (don't bother with an umbrella IMHO, a pain to carry after a while).

Once nice thing about rain is it really clears out the parks and makes it easy to rack up a bunch of indoor rides (not affected by weather).

If you really want to worry about something.......worry about those darn love-bugs (will they be gone, are they bad, do they taste funny etc). j/k.

This is from a professional worrier. My worries end as soon as I am checked into our WDW resort and all my bags are there. From then on, it is bliss.....

Regards,

Bring a poncho, leave the umbrella. I nearly had my eye put out by someone who wasn't paying attention to where her umbrella "spines" were... :sad2: Also, Crocs are great for WDW shoes...no worries about getting them wet!

I'll be there the first week too and I just looked at the weather.

I have been planning this trip for so long, I just can't worry about the weather. We are going rain or shine!

When it comes to weather around Disney, I've learned to really not pay attention to the weather until the day of or night before. And even then. When they say rain or storm, usually its maybe 20min-1h a day and the rest of the day is fine. The only thing I worry about for weather is ruining MNSSHP, because rain actually can ruin that and bad downpours. But a few scattered showers is fine as they dont usually last long. Less rain is always better though!

We leave in 3 days and I am very nervous. Theres actually another thread on theme parks forum about the weather next week where posters have been discussing T.S. Karen and whether it'll hit Florida next week. I guess we just need to wait & see what happens - easier said then done. Everyone here puts so much effort & time into planning their vacations its too bad that the weather plays such a huge role. But I live in Maine and we always say "wait a few minutes & the weather will change". So I guess what I'm trying to say is try to not to be upset by the 7 or 10 day forecast - anything could happen. Just go day to day - theres so much to do at Disney I'm sure we'll all have fun no matter what the weather. Take care and have a great trip.

Don't worry about the weather unless there's a hurricane. Scattered showers is the forecast for our area most everyday. That means we might get rain sometime for usually less than an hour, either here, or down the street. Walt picked Florida for the great weather, although the heat can be tough. If something tropical does come our way it usually only lasts a couple of days. Leave the dvd player at home, and don't worry, even if you do have a rainy day, a rainy day at Disney is better than a nice day at home. :yay:

We took our first trip in 1997 at the end of October, into November. It POURED the entire time. However, we had such a great time. The sun finally came out on our last day. We learned to swap out our shoes to let one dry while the other got wet. We bought yellow Mickey ponchos and they lasted the entire trip (plus we even used them after the trip). The day we were supposed to go to Mickey's No So Scary Halloween Party (and this was back when there was only two - day before Halloween and Halloween), it came down so hard that we thought the party would be a washout. Lucky for us, about 7PM, it stopped raining hard and we only had a very light sprinkle (occasionally, not constant). Our nieces had such a great time and our son was only 4 at the time and he thought the pool was the greatest invention since everything.

We just got back and that was the forecast as well.... scattered showers everyday. What is forecasted does not always happen!! If it did rain it was very short lived! As well some days like Friday the day we went to the halloween party we did not see a drop of rain!!
