That's right "shoes".

I am planning a trip to Disney in late September that I hope doesn't get canceled due to the "economy".
I have heard that it may rain ALOT in September and someone suggested I try Keen's Newport H2.
Before I continue let me explain: As most of you know, I don't like clothes and I don't like shoes. This means that most of my wardrobe is gotten from my daughters or the Goodwill because I am loathe to spend money on something I don't even like. Hence, my whole lot of shoes probably cost me less than $100..no kidding..I only own about 4 pairs of shoes.....So the idea of spending almost $100 on these shoes is killing me ( but I really think they fit the bill of a great Disney shoe).

Any words of wisdom????

For the record James is encouraging me to get the shoes.....

How much are those crock things? :confused3

Ugly as can be, but it looks like they do well in the rain!

You do not like shoes or clothes??? That's all I heard out of this thread! Are you sure your a girl???? LOL! :)

Actually I'm not sure about the shoes you mentioned but I know LL Bean also sells "water sneakers. I wore them alot on our last cruise. You can wear them just about anywhere. I did not spend $100 on them.

off topic - but I can't even count the pairs of shoes I have - I have 2 closets full of them though!

Mike!

What's wrong with you!

Never, EVER suggest that a person should even consider wearing those ugly monstrosities!

Not even this version? :confused3

Last time I checked I was still a girl...but I'm a nudist at heart! :lmao:

I've looked at "watershoes" but I have a bad arch and need support. The water shoes also look like they're not sturdy enough for alot of walking. This stupid Keen shoe has gotten great reviews for being both quick drying and solid supportive enough for walking 'round (and round)

Rosie check out the Naot brand,
I love these shoes, sooooo comfortable, and supportive, and they have many cute styles,
sandals, clogs, casual etc........
i have walked all over in my naot sandals and never sore feet,

they are expensive but worth every penny

Rosie -- I don't know anything about the shoes that have been mentioned so far. But, I do have weak arches and need support. My general experience is that very few shoes are worth the money, but, that it is totally worth spending the money for the right shoe.

I have long hair because I'm not willing to waste money getting my hair cut and yet I spend close to $200 on quality running shoes. I'd recommend that you find a couple of stores that specialize in running shoes and/or walking shoes and go in and try on a bunch of options. (A good store will encourage you to try on just about everything and will be able to make recommendations based on the shape of your foot and amount of collapse in your arches.)

I have been to wdw twice in Sept. and the "lots of rain" isn't really that bad--at least not compared to what I've experienced in other places. On our last trip I tried to carry a pair of crocs to wear in heavy rain, but, after a couple of days I left them behind because my feet, ankles and knees just hurt too much to walk on concrete without proper support. I find that my running shoes don't hold much water and dry out just fine. (Granted, I'm wearing fancy running shoes that are specially designed for runners--people run marathons in the rain, so, the shoes need to work--and I wear fancy socks designed not to hold moisture too.)

Thanks..
We do a bit of camping too, and I can see that this shoe would work there as well. You make sense when you say the right shoe is worth the money. My foot still hurts from a fall I took last spring (you remember...Wally pushed me)...and since then I have been very consciencious about being nice to my feet.
I suppose even if I do have to cancel Disney, I should still have a good summer shoe.

Can I just put in a plug for Chaco Unaweep sandals? OMG, they are so awesome! I have a very wide foot and must have good support or my back kills me. I :lovestruc my Chacos! They were pricey, but they have been worth every penny. Even after wearing them lots during the past 2 years, they look brand new. If the adjustable straps wear out, they will re-strap them. Standing, walking, or just hangin' around, you just can't beat them. They dry out super fast too!

Crocs make some cute (yet comfy) Maryjanes...(And you cannot beat'em in a downpour) Not real big on support though if you need it. I have a pink pair that I like a lot.

I'm a bit of klutz so open toed shoes can be tricky. The Zeen's shoes are a cross between a sandal and a sneaker. It has a toe guard but strappy to allow for air circulation.

Rosie,

Crocs are great! I wore them every single day in WDW last year. I have extra wide feet (to match the extra wide back end) and high arches so I need support and comfort or I am a whiney witch with a B.

Granted, they are not the cutest things but they are supportive and comfortable and that means more to me than cute.

I am wearing my pink ones with Mickey heads right now (I think Rob just fainted)....

Crocs don't seem to fit me. I usually wear a size six..but it's waaay too big, the next size down too small:headache: I'd wear them if they were comfy. I really don't care spit about style....although Mikes offerings were the exception!

I'm with you. :thumbsup2

Crocs makes tons of shoes styles now.
And nothing makes my tootsies feel better after
a long day schlogging thru the parks. :cloud9:
