DW had a question about wearing shoes without backs or slipons on some rides. She wonders whether they will encourage you to take them off so you don't lose them. Any thoughts or experience.
I can't think of one WDW ride where you are at risk for losing your shoes. There are no "hanging" rides where they'd fall off. I wear slip-ons all the time at WDW. Sometimes they slip off while I'm walking, but that's because I'm a doofus and not due to any rides.
I thought I read recently that even on Kali River Rapids, they now make you keep your shoes on, although they will get wet. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong! Since I often dream I'm at Disney, sometimes I get reality and dreaming confused.

Yes, you must keep your shoes on for the entire ride on Kali River Rapids. Many people take water shoes or flip flops to change into before boarding the ride, so they can put their walking shoes and socks in a plastic bag and place it in the center of the ride to avoid getting them soaked. That is what we do, too!
