My friend says that in the WDW restaurants they require shoes to be worn by guests at all times. I thought that this was only required in convenient stores and supermarkets! Just wandering if anyone else had this experience, as I have gone shoeless at least twice while eating in the World.

I think this post is probably a joke, at least, I hope it is, but yes, footwear is required. I can't imagine anyone wanting to walk around in a theme park barefoot all day anyway.

'Shoeless' to me means wearing only socks or bare feet. You think it is acceptable to go into a restaurant like that?

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

No....to dine in a restaurant shirts and shoes must be worn. I thought this was implemented by the board of health.

I sincerely hope this is a troll...I can't imagine why anyone would want to walk barefoot in a restaurant:confused3 ewww!!

This post brings to mind an important question:

If you put shoes on a bear, does it still have bare feet? :rolleyes1

Oh yeah I go to Disney all the time without shoes. Nothing like going into a bathroom 14000 people a day use without shoes on:thumbsup2

OP:

If Mickey and Minnie need to wear shoes, so do you! :upsidedow

Shoes and shirts required. I wear my Disney Tee and Flip flops and nothing else to stay cool as there is no requirement to wear pants posted.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

When I was in college I worked for a grocery store...shirt and shoes required by the health department of course. One day a man wandered in without pants on (he was very obviously under the influence). Turned out pants are not required by the health department, but they ARE required by local law.

But Donald is always barefoot. I asked a cm at guest relations about that at ASMusic(he was adding a day to our tix) and he pointed out that even Daisy always sore shoes, but Donald is just a rebel. Well, duh. BTW, check Goofy Santa's naughty and nice lists. Donald is the only one on both lists.

I think the WDW restaurants do require shoes and it's an okay rule I guess. At least they haven't said anything when we dine without our pants. That would be the proverbial straw for me. I mean how could you truly get your money's worth at those buffets with pants on?

Brittney Spears??? Is that you????? Ha-ha-ha!!!!

My 1st trip to Disney ever I didn't know to wear comfortable shoes. So the first night my feet hurt so bad I took them off after the fireworks at EPCOT to walk back to the car. That night when I got in the shower my feet were so dirty they made a black streak in the shower where the dirt was coming off. I can not imagine WANTING to go barefoot! Yuck!

Perhaps they meant to walk into the counter service location at the hotel? In that case I suppose you might walk in barefoot and no one would say anything to you.

But other than that, and really, even then, I would assume shoes would be required at all times.
