Just recently I have had to get orthotic inserts. With winter shoes it was okay, but sandals not so much. I need a great suggestion for a comfy wearing sandals/flip flops type shoe. I'm even in physio for my plantar facisictis. The most stressful part of going to Florida is my feet. And we leave Saturday .
Last hear I had a pair of sketchers and they were amazing, this year I can barely wear them. But I also did not have plantar facisictis....last year either.

I need suggestions please and where to buy them. Here in Canada the cheapest pair is over 180! Yikes. Greatly appreciate your help.

Thanks from the bottom of my feet :rotfl2:

I wear some Orthaheels that I ordered from Zappos. They have really great arch supports which is what helps the heel pain. I also tried on some Abeo at a store specializing in walking shoes locally. Those felt good too. Both brands have flip flops and other sandal styles.

I suffer from planter fasciatis as well and I also purchased a pair of Orthaheel sandals, and several other expensive styles, but unbelievably, the most comfortable shoes I have found are Dr Scholl's sneakers with a gel heel insert from Walmart. They were only $25! I keep checking for them to get flip flops with the gel heel.

Another PF sufferer. I love, love, love my Olukai Ohana flip flops.

I also like the Orthoheel Tide or Waves, Montrail Molokini, Cobian Leather Bounce, and Sketcher Tone Ups. As you can tell, I'm a big flip flop fan. I hate tennis shoes down there.

As someone dealing with this issue for years, I swear by FitFlops! I walk all day and night at Disney without any problems. My orthopedic dr and podiatrist both recommend them. They are made for feet like ours.

I've been on the fence about purchasing Olukai flip flops. Thanks for the info!

Can you buy those in a store in Orlando ?? Like DSW ?? We fly out this weekend, and we always hit a shoe store while there.

I am not a running shoe/tennis shoe girl at all. Summer time, bring out the sandals or flip floppie type shoes.

Thanks :)

If all else fails, you can grab a pair of the Mickey Head Croc flip flops in the parks. I have done that twice when the shoes I brought were hurting. They have enough arch and enough cushion for lots of walking. I'm with you, tennis shoes don't work for me.

Keancanuk, what you do at night will affect how your days will go walking around Walt Disney World. I have had plantar fasciitis for several years now and am still able to walk all four parks with no problem but you must keep your foot in a straight position through the night meaning you cannot allow your foot and arch to relax while you sleep. You can purchase a small foot boot at any Walgreens and wear it in the evening while you sleep or I have seen the Strutz products sold in Walmart and Walgreens also that keep your arch pulled up. Your foot must remain in the straight position (toes pointed to the ceiling). In the morning, remember to do your stretching exercises to your foot that your doctor should have already prescribed.

For me the most comfortable shoes have been Crocs to walk around the parks. There is a Crocs outlet store near Downtown Disney at the Orlando Premium Outlets on Vineland www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp?id=17 (very good discounts). The most comfortable flip flops have been the Nike Celso flip flop which run approximately $20 and can be purchased at the Nike Outlet (which is at the same outlet) or any Famous Footwear Store.

If you are already in pain, you may want to consider getting a shot from your doctor before you go which will numb the area for 24-48 hours and decrease swelling. The shot will carry you through two weeks and you will be able to walk normal with no pain. NOTE: The shot area will be sore for a few days. You can also get a printout of your condition from your doctor and take it with you. If standing in line or walking aggrevates your condition while you are there, check with Guest Relations to see if they can offer some assistance.

Have a wonderful time!

I don't know about your particle problem but I just bought a pair of GoWalk by Skechers and they are like walking on pillows!
