I'm trying to not overpack. Is there anything on the Egypt trip that absolutely necessitates closed toe shoes?
(Background: I have pretty messed up feet. Joint fusion, flat, arthritic, weird bone that sticks up on top... I've never found a single pair of tennis shoes (or really closed toe shoes in general) that are comfortable. After just a few minutes, the backs of my heels will be bleeding, the tops of my feet are bruised, and my toenails will literally fall off (TMI). I wear sandals (Olukai) everywhere - 9 day+ trips walking all day at Disney World, a month in Greece last year (incl ABD), etc and I'm fine. I'll wear regular shoes if it's required, but I know I'll be paying for it for months.)
