What shoes will an 11 year old boy wear at WDW that would be comfortable? We are surprising the kids with a trip in 3 weeks and I know DS needs new shoes, he's outgrown everything but his flip-flops and those just won't do. DH doesn't think he'll go for Crocs at all, not cool for a boy! So any ideas? Thanks!

Is he in boy's sizes or men's sizes? Not that it really matters but boy's stuff is cheaper.

When we went last year (my son was 10 1/2), I bought him a pair of Teva's and a pair of Keen sandals. I got both at the L.L. Bean outlet so I didn't pay nearly as much for them as I would have regular retail (the Keen's are $$$$$). Both were very comfy but I think my son preferred the Keen's.

Thanks Christine. He's in men's, at least a size 9.

Actually, my 11 year old son wears his crocs at Disney! It is great because he can walk through all the water areas and not worry about walking around in wet sneakers afterwards.

Have you asked HIM??

My 10 yo and his 11 yo friend both wore Crocs. They loved them. They were especially great after riding Kali River Rapids!

Try these:

Reef's are excellent sandals - how about these in men's sizes:

Or these by Reef called BYOB:

Please do not put your son in Crocs - they look way weird on young men and he will get laughed at.

My sons 12 and 13 prefer tennis shoes or tevas sandels

Buy the Keens they are the best for parks.

You might even look into Just water shoes (good ones ) like merrels ,I have Teva ( full not sandles),Solomons , NorthFace, and Eccos .. They support great are lightweight and dry fast. The Keens just worked so well even at the waterparks I left them on .

Norstroms just had Keens on sale .

He thinks his flip-flops are fine for the rest of the summer. He doesn't know we are going to WDW, it's a surprise. I don't think flip-flops are good enough for walking the parks. Thanks everyone, I think I'll look into some Teva's, Keen's look too expensive for me.

Good ol' sneakers?? That's what my boys would wear!

my 11 year old son hates CROCS. He says they are girly shoes.

He likes flip flops and slides like the OP posted.

:rotfl2: You mustve been the school bully.

My DS (13) just wears his regular sneakers to the parks. One thing you will definitely want to do whatever shoe you get is let him have them awhile before the trip so that he can break them in and they are comfortable. You don't want him ending up with a blister at the parks from new shoes or having him doing all that walking in shoes that aren't comfortable!

My boys never wear anything but sneakers.
