Shoes at the Waterparks

This is a big question mark for me as well. We've never done the waterparks on any of our previous trips, this June will be our first time. I'm planning on buying my 3 kids cheap watershoes at Wal-Mart and leaving the tags on them. I'll bring them with me when we go to BB, then if any of the kids need/want them, I'll rip off the tags and they're good to go. If any of them do not get used, I'll return them to Wal-Mart when we get home.

I guess it is the curse of the nurse b/c I've seen WAY TOO MANY non-healing foot wounds that patients fight for months on end (and many end up with an amputation). I would never go barefoot anywhere, including my own house (my family numbers 1 DH, 1 DD, 3 Dogs, 3 Cats, 3 fish tanks). Here in TX people have gotten 2nd and 3rd degree burns on their feet from hot concrete. That being said, if you have decent circulation (no diabetes, PVD/PAD, neuropathy, etc) you would probably be ok with flip flops. It is just so easy to get a foot wound, like stepping on a toothpick or thumb tack or other debris. DH and DD got swim shoes as "surprise, you're gonna wear these and like it" presents for our upcoming trip, gonna hit both TL and BB. Disclaimer - if you do have health impairments, please discuss with your MD/DO/DPM prior to doing the trip. Also, if you have a foot wound, a podiatrist can be your best friend!
