Shoe question...

This will be our first trip and I'm getting nervous about my feet - I know my birkenstock sandals are good for walking, but they can be kicked off (no heel strap that holds them tight) -- will these be ok? Are there any rides where my feet might be dangling and I'll regret wearing them?

I can't think of any ride at Disney where your feet "dangle". You should be okay. Even if you do feel like taking them off on a ride, you can always sit on them. I believe some of the rides have bags you can put personal belongings in.

The only dangling one I can think of is Soaring & there's a basket for your stuff. I always sat on my shoes on those kind of rides, like PP said...worked great.

On soarin you just leave your shoes on the floor where you slip them off and it is amazing ( I know why but it is still amazing!) how close when you land it is to just being able to slip your feet in and go.

Wear what is comfortable and not comfortable for a couple of hours but those shoes that you can have on for 12 hours and never ever rub or get tight, etc. I always wear tennis shoes but my DD sometimes wears sandals.

Like everyone else said, Soarin is the only ride that comes to mind. I wore my Teva flip flops every day on our last two trips, and will never wear anythign else.

Thanks! We will be there all week so I figured I should have a couple pairs of shoes just in case. My main ones are a pair of llbean explorers which have been super comfy on hikes. My tennis shoes have been hurting my feet lately.

Oh yea... I keep forgetting they brought Soarin' in from Cali (that's where I rode it first).

No major moving, just leave them on the floor!
