I've been studying Holocaust all year. It was an absolutely horrible thing and anyone who denies it happened is just beyond ridiculous. There's so much proof, there's VIDEO and PICTURES. I mean seriously? Has anyone seen the movie "Life is Beautiful"?

omg we had to watch that movie last year. everyone was crying even the boys who were all like "yeah whatever, were stronger than that" stuff, some were crying harder than the girls.

The massive amounts of psychology used in engineering the holocaust is fantastic. It's one of the single most successful uses of brainwashing and numbing the world has ever seen.

Sadly, that's also what makes it so terrible.

It's true. It happened. But some people just don't get that. And it's not just the Hitler crazed, germany loving (and I say that in the most non-negative way possible towards germans. I mean the "ideal" third reich germany some people hope for), neo-nazis, either. Many Islamics refuse to see it either as ever having occured or even being a bad thing.

As for what's in the books. I wouldn't know. I didn't learn my American History (and thus, the portions concerning WWII and The Holocaust) from a book. I am taking a course called "The Holocaust and Genocide in the Modern Era" this semester and I'm hoping that this course along with my previous course in Psychology will let me have a little more insight into these people's minds.

But everybody focuses on the Holocaust. What about Rwanda? Darfur? Armenia? Bosnia-Herzgovenia? Those were all atrocious genocides, but they don't get nearly enough attention because "less people were killed". It shouldn't matter about the number killed. Just the act itself should be enough to make any sane person appalled.
