Will there be a charge if I order my nephew a Shirley Temple at dinner? I loved these as a child and would love for him to associate them with the Magic!

No charge in the sit-down restaurants for ST's or any other soda. Make sure if you ask for extra cherries you really like cherries. DD asked for extra and sometimes the glass was almost 1/3 full of cherries - enough to share.

Sorry I can't answer your question for sure. They charged for smoothies at dinner (my kids got those a few times) so I imagine that they would for "bar drinks" even without alchohol. I have always wondered- what is a Shirley Temple?- I have never had one.
Thanks!

A Shirley Temple is 7-Up or Sprite and Grenadine with cherries, a Roy Rogers is Coke and Grenadine with cherries.

DD loves to drink milk, she's not a fan of chocolate milk, so for a change in a restaurant she will order milk with a splash of Grenadine for a fruit flavored taste.

We were not charged for Shirly Temples and once it was known my son loved them there was one waiting for him every night at dinner.
Just another reason we love Disney. :lovestruc

Thanks! I will remember that for the next cruise!!

I had the same experience as DisneyForLife. "Shirley Temples" were free and our servers always had them on them tables before we arrived after we ordered them the first night.

Have a great cruise!

Sounds like the "kiddie cocktail" my youngest DD (11) "had to have". And yes, extra cherries. She ordered it the first night and there they were waiting for her every night at dinner along with a bowl of cherries................Oh ya, no charge.

Would they also be free at the bars if the child has the soda mug / sticker?

We booked through AAA and received the soda mug / sticker for all members of our party. Since DD5 does not drink soda (only drinks water, pink lemonade, and milk), this was somewhat of a wasted freebie. She may actually like a Shirley Temple.

I've always made Shirley Temples with orange juice, gingerale, grenadine, a cherry (and of course the drink umbrella finishes it off nicely)... am I making it wrong?

Annie, it's just gingerale, a splash of grenadine and the cherry -- no orange juice although it sounds good :) HTH

Cherries for everyone!

We had a tableful of Shirley Temple drinkers last week (oh, how long ago it now seems). 4 kids + 1 adult; lots of extra cherries to share

masonpips... Can you remind me how you took the beautiful picture of your kids in the window? We're going in 2 weeks, and I want to try to do the same thing! Thanks! :D

just an FYI--it's actually 7-up or Sprite and grenadine, not gingerale.

We had them waiting on the table for the "kids" each night at dinner and a TON of cherries!!

They are also included with the soda cards/stickers.

The first year I took the picture early in the day (we were waiting to go to our Character breakfast) and the sun was shining pretty bright; the natural light did a great job on the contrast between the kids/porthole.

This year I didn't take any that early but I like the sun (it was setting; we were in Sessions for a friend's vow renewal) and I'm thinking of doing a "star" Christmas card to frame around the picture.

You can also get a shirley temple in your soda mug!! This is also our drink of choice for our family and the server always brought our 17 year old two to start dinner. Some one said something about orange juice and sprite-we call it a sunshine but I/m not sure you can get that without charge on the cruise.
