If we use shipwreck beach for a ceremony venue, are we required to use event guides, like in Epcot? Is it still one guide per fifty guests?

I know we would have to use disney for large floral, sound system, decor, etc., but what about things like a basket for flipflops or parasols? or mickey program fans?

When we were thinking about an Epcot evening event, we were told about using epcot specialty acts (ie acrobats). Is it possible to get a couple of (or any) hula dancers from spirit of aloha for cocktail hour?

Are there any trolley type vehicles to take people from the beach to ADH? I know that the two are close, but a few of our guests might have trouble with walking the entire distance.

TIA!!

Hi there! As the previous poster said, we got married on shipwreck beach a month ago! We didn't need or use any event guides, we directed our guests to the beach club and that was it. We had our cocktail hr at SBP, then reception in the BW convention center ballrooms. I'm sure if you wanted to go the other way, you could look into having cocktail hour at the yacht club marina? Hula dancers I have no idea on. We provided parasols, flip flops, fans and programs that I brought myself. We didn't need transportation, but I'm sure you could get some if you want it. You could also rent surrey bikes and have your groomsmen drive over the older folks ( we thought about this for DH' s grandfather but he wasn't able to come.

I just got my professional pictures today that I'll post soon, let me know if you have any questions! :goodvibes

I got married at Shipwreck Beach in May! :goodvibes You don't have to use event guides for Shipwreck Beach. You could bring in your own flip flops, programs, fans, etc if you want. I'm not sure about the hula dancers or vehicles...I would ask your consultant or planner about that.

I think it's great that you are considering Shipwreck Beach! :cutie: I had actually never heard of any couples having their ceremony there until my husband and I first asked about it a little over a year ago. Good luck! My PJ is in my signature if you want to check it out.

honestly. it was those two planning journals that got me thinking about SB. I am fairly certain we will end up getting too big for the Epcot location we really want, and Pam said the number limits are strictly enforced. So... if we can't have the spot that means something, why put up with the other restrictions? just MHO at this point.

I have sent an email about the hula dancers, even though they are more of a blue sky thought right now. I was hoping that the boards might have a clue. Thanks as always!

The trick with entertainment at outdoor venues is that it has to fit the theme. I can see Disney going either way on hula dancers: Maybe they will say it doesn't fit with the Eastern Seaboard theme of the Yacht & Beach Club, or maybe they will say it's OK cuz being on the beach is enough.

There are no trolleys to take people to the beach, but the resort may be able to scrounge up a couple of Club Cars (golf carts) for the members of your group with restricted mobility. I just wouldn't count on a fleet. :thumbsup2
