Shipping to OKW using USPS

So what are the chances my stuff my husband shipped using USPS will actually GET to my resort in time for vacation in 10 days? I had two boxes of stuff I was shipping (one was non persihable foods and the other household items like toiletries, soaps, etc). I told him to use UPS only because I heard USPS has problems delivering to resort proepeties because they do not acknowledge the resort adresses. He went and sent it USPS to save $50. I was sending quite a bit down this time because we are getting one of the Owners Lockers to keep stuff there from now on. I really hate the fact he saved $50 if that means we may end up not getting all our non perishable foods and having to do the DDP or buy food using cash. So, has anyone shipped to a resot using USPS and actually gotten their stuff on time. We do have a tracking number, not that it will help much I fear.

I have always used Fedex as USPS has become so unreliable and picky. I have never had problems with Fedex. I wish you the best of luck.

You can go to the USPS website and look up the transit time.

The problem with USPS at Disney is that all US Mail is delivered to a central Disney processing facility. They sort and process the mail for delivery to the recipient. This can add time to the delivery process.

We shipped using flat rate Priority Shipping boxes this past Friday. By all the negative feedback about transit time, I was scared that we wouldn't get our package on time for our arrival on the 5th. I was also one of those people that wanted to save $50 - otherwise I would have just packed in the suitcase and paid the extra $50 for overweight baggage.
Even with it being a holiday weekend. We show that our package was delivered this morning! I'm sure it will be waiting for us when we get there I'm hoping it will be the same for you.

Our boxes arrived on the 4th day of our vacation at OKW. This is why we now use UPS. I hope your experience is better!

I've had many many UPS boxes and envelopes delivered to me the next day at various DVC resorts. They do NOT go to central distribution as someone stated. In fact, they are delivered to the resort front desk. I usually get a phone call in the morning that my package has arrived.... It has never been a problem, nor have USPS Express Mail envelopes or boxes.

The problem with USPS at Disney is that all US Mail is delivered to a central Disney processing facility. Your boxes were received at the facility, not your resort. Hopefully they will be transfered to your resort by the time you get there.

Bill even though you keep on saying this it doesn't make it so. I have seen UPS deliver to OKW.. I have gotten UPS and USPS Express Mail delivered to OKW..

Priority mail is NOT the same as Express Mail or having a package delivered by UPS. I repeat, UPS and Express Mail is delivered directly to your resort. No if, ands, or buts, about it.

Outgoing USPS mail from the resorts is also processed by Disney or contracted employees. It is not picked up by a postal worker. The mail is batched and trucked to the USPS sort facility. Out going mail can really be delayed. We have mailed our Christmas cards from Disney, Two and a half weeks prior to Christmas and they didn't get delivered until after New Years.

This is correct. The reason express mail is delivered directly to the resort is because it is guaranteed next day delivery. Express has to be delivered to the physical street address. If it doesn't get there the next day you get your money back

We used FedEx this past February and had quick delivery. It was waiting for us at the front desk and I think we shipped it 6 days before we left.
