shipping pkgs home..need advice ASAP

Hi..we leave tomorrow and I am totally freaking out! We have so much stuff. Part of the problem, is that my kids asthma has flared up bad so I have to big tons of meds and nebulizer machine with us. Right now our 3 suitcase are packed pretty full.

My question is this..is there the possibility to mail stuff home. For instance, midway through the trip is it possible to ship a box of clothes home to free up some space for the souvenirs etc that I know we will buy.

I know people have shipped stuff to WDW, but what about shipping stuff home. We are staying at AKL.

Not sure of anywhere on Disney property where you can ship anything but your purchases from Disney....If you have a car, or other transportation there are a couple of UPS - type stores nearby...One is on Hwy. 535, a couple blocks out past the Crossroads shopping center. There is another near the Publix store that is close to Dixie Stampede. Undoubtedly there's one or more somewhere on Hwy. 192, but I'm not familiar with them

As the wife of a UPS driver, I plan on taking a shipping label and (collapsed) box with me. I will estimate (a bit over) the weight. I will do this on UPS' website and prepay it with my credit card. Any driver can take it or I expect that the hotels receive deliveries regularly and I can take it to the front desk.

If you see a family stopped to take a picture of a UPS truck, just ignore us... It's something we just do!

We have shipped packages to/from about 6 times.

We send it UPS ground and takes about 3 days.

The box we ship down with "stuff" gets packed with souveniers. We bring packing tape.

Some people have had success getting boxes to use from the gift shop.

Anyway, we bring the box down to the front desk, fill out a form, and the shipping cost gets billed to our credit card.

If you are staying at a convention resort (e.g. BWI), you bring the box to the business center (in the convention center).

There is a post office off Turkey Road if you want to use the postal service. They would have boxes there, too.

Also if you buy stuff they will ship that home to you. If you can buy all your stuff at DTD in one shopping trip and they will take care of shipping it home. (There is a slight fee.)

Why don't you just take an empty suitcase or collapsed duffel to take home as checked luggage (filled with your souvenirs) on the plane with you?

Dd loves stuffed animals and we always bring empty suitcases/duffels to bring back filled--the animals are so bulky!! You can check two suitcases for each person (including children) and you also have carryons. Will you really have more stuff than that?

The hotels that have business and convention centers will happily ship your things, from the business office. I'd try Coronado Springs, which is right next door to you. We shipped from there last Thanksgiving and it was a breeze.

I also seem to remember that Coronado will provide some boxes.

We've done this several times, from a variety of resorts-- shipping home everything from Christmas gifts to souvenirs to dirty laundry!--and there has never been a problem.

oh geez I hope not!!! Our 2st fulll day their is DS's 3rd bday but I hope to practice restraint...hehehe

Thats a good idea. I had thought about bringing an emtpy suitcase put didn't want to deal with that. I like the idea of putting duffel bag in one of the suitcases and then using it for clothes on the way back and putting other stuff we buy in one of the more sturdy suitcases....

Will you have a car while in Florida. You can buy a soft sided duffle bag down there in Walmart, very reasonable price.

Can you tell I've done that.
