I made the mistake last year of not brining an extra bag to stowe all my purchases in. (At least it was mainly x-mas shopping :woohoo: ) Talk about a disaster of having to try to figure out if I should spend a fortune on a Disney duffle bag or not. Then I came across a marveoulous thing. Any resort gift shop will arrange to have most purchases sent Fed-ex ground. It cost me around $25 and everything came a few days later. Definitley easier than worrying about the beer steins and martini glasses getting crushed in baggage handling. I'll be doing the same thing this year, the money was worth the convience.

Since everything is being shipped out of state, did they exclude sales tax on your purchases? :)

I agree that the shipping is one of the best thongs. Since saving the sales tax for out of state usually makes me come out ahead--I always say ship it. Plus it is a nice way to extend your trip when your package comes in the mail!

On our last trip in Nov 05 we did Christmas shopping and at the end of our trip noted just how much we purchased and , WOW; now to get this home. We checked at our front desk, they suggested to take the two suitcases full to the gift shop. They suggested they re-ring all the purchaes, eliminated the sales tax, and added only the cost of the shipping charges. They boxed everything up, and off we went to finish our day at the parks. This was an experience I never had at WDW. I never new you could have all your purchases shipped all together, at the end of your trip. Saves on paying shipping charges many times.

I don't believe you can get both: Everything shipped all-together (to save on shipping costs) and sold without sales tax applied at point-of-purchase, but rather can get one or the other.

I still paid the sales tax to have everything shipped in one package. If I had shipping done from each individual site I would've saved the tax, but in the end it would've been a fortune for shipping. I don't mind the 5% sales tax, especially since for the year I worked in Florida I never paid a penny of state income tax. :teeth:
