Shipping items prior to arrival??

Can have bottled water pre-shipped to the hotel? If so, how do you do that?

Someone on these boards was saying something about ordering some bottled water through Staples (free shipping), and having it shipped to their hotel prior to arrival. Can you do this with all hotels? How do you have the package addressed?

Call and ask for the mailing address. When I had something shipped (flowers) I told the 800 Flowers people to put the guest name and arrival date on the front of the package. I am sure you can have Staples do the same. Try to schedule the delivery date to coincide with your arrival date. With free shipping, this sounds like a great idea! I just may have to do this too! Thanks for the great idea.

I shipped a special kind of sparkling grape juice down to RPR before our trip last year as a surprise (family tradition drink). The night mgr. (Michelle) had told me to send it to her attention. When we arrived, the bottles were not only in our room, but already chilling in a champagne bucket. The free shipping for your water sounds great....cost me a little more than I expected to ship two bottles of this stuff......lol costs about $2.00 to buy and $15 to ship!

it has become a regular thing now for me to ship myself a box. thanks to the posters on this board, i usually end of saving alot of money and time having what i want in the room. i usually pack a 25 pound box or so and ship a case of mini water bottles, juice boxes, chips, pretzels, cookies, peanut butter, jam, bread, cereal, etc. the kids loved having the things that they really liked and i loved not having to get up really early to find them something. i took a collapsable cooler with us and the kids took turns filling with ice. we had cold beverages in the room and at the pool all the time, along with pb&j sandwiches. this allowed me to avoid the stress of finding a place to eat that made everyone happy as well as save money to use for what they really wanted, ice cream and such.

if you go on ups.com - they have a cost and shipment date calculator. it cost me just $15-$16 to ship the box. get the address to the hotel and ship to yourself. i.e.

Are you taking a town car service? Most offer complimentary grocery stops at a Publix or Walgreens, etc, so that might be another option.
